Abby’s Adieu (F&FW): Short & Sweet

August 12, 2018

“Abby, please don’t go, too!” But, sadly, Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Abby Huntsman did just that in spite of the plea of this Carpe Diem author. With less than two years under her belt as Fox & Friends Weekend co-host, she bade her co-hosts Pete Hegseth and Ed Henry, her crew, and, most importantly, her viewers a fond farewell to reportedly join her good friend Meghan McCain at the table on The View to wage friendly fire with libs Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, and Whoopi Goldberg.

Yesterday, in the opening segment, Abby exclaimed, “Big news that we will talk about tomorrow! But this is our last weekend together! So, we are going to make the most of this [inaudible].” True to her word, she did just that today. And, it came as no surprise to those who follow cable news (HuffPo link): But, to the viewers who do not, it probably did since Abby sat on the F&FW curvy couch as queen for such a short reign. In the final segment today, F&FW producers gave Abby a fitting farewell tribute (vid via J$P) as they brought in her hubs Jeff and their daughter Isabel Grace to mark this new chapter in her life. The daughter of the current ambassador to Russia and the past ambassador to China, Jon Huntsman, Jr., certainly was politically savvy and smart. And, the Utah lovely also had her sexy side–albeit family friendly–a la weekday Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt. She gave her fans a reason to rise in the early morn on the weekend with her cheerful disposition, beauty, and brains.

Gone much too soon, Abby! You will be missed!

Roberts Abashes Alina

April 16, 2009

Another unanticipated Roberts ad lib! Yesterday American Morning correspondent Alina Cho’s reported on the inspiring debut of Susan Boyle on “Britain’s Got Talent” debut and her consequently sensational YouTube success. [Boyle aptly sang Fantine’s “I Have a Dream” from Les Miserables.] As her segment closed, AM co-anchor John Roberts replied, “She’s fantastic!” To which, Alina answered, “Let’s hope they don’t make her over.” Co-anchor Kiran Chetry drily agreed, “I know. Just waiting for the makeover: They do it to everybody, right?”

Then John rained on Alina’s parade. Not unlike when he embarrassed former CNN legal eagle Sunny Hostin with an off-the-cuff query,* WikiRoberts queried, “Maybe, they’ll let her play Cosette [another Les Miserables character]. What do you [Alina] think?” Looking like a deer in the headlights, she looked hopefully at Kiran, shook her head, and mouthed, “I don’t [know].

Trying to cue her, John interjected, “In the next iteration of Les Miz.” Prompting her further, Kiran commented, “Yeah.” Alina responded, “Oh, oh, the character. Yes.” Then Alina smiled, lowered her head, and added, “You got me there. Sorry!”

John, Janelle is going to get you one day for not staying on script!

Sunny’s Cloudy Monday

Hostin: Hannity Honey?

February 4, 2009

Yes, legal lovely Sunny Hostin, Carpe Diem’s Hula Hoop Honey and American Morning’s Honey, seems to still be flirting anew with FNC. As CNN’s AM once again removed her from its reporters/correspondents list, FNC’s Hannity featured her Monday on its “Great American Panel.” The former fed prosecutor and CNN legal analyst took a moderate position: She was opposed, on one hand, to lib political consultant Bob Beckel’s rather lenient positon on the Michael Phelps affair, and against conservative host Sean Hannity’s somewhat stern view of Tom Daschle’s tax problems. As usual, Sunny luminated the studio: However, where will she set in the near future?

Sunny Honeybee’s Flight of Fancy

January 7, 2009

Where will American Morning’s correspondent Sunny Hostin finally alight? Today she landed again on Fox & Friends’ curvy couch this morning in a debate segment on cities’ not requiring job applicants to disclose a felony conviction. The CNN legal eagle was introduced by F&F co-host Steve Doocy merely as a former federal prosecutor.

Since four days ago AM’s guest host Joe Johns introduced Sunny as a legal analyst and her name reappeared on AM’s website as a correspondent,* this author deduced that she had returned to CNN with a renewed contract. Perhaps, I spoke prematurely. It appears that Sunny Honey** is still flitting about from flower to flower–not sure which cable news network beckons best.

Whoever Sunny selects should be happy to dance with the Hula Hoop Honey!

Sunny A.M. Again

January 3, 2009

Looking resplendent in her hot pink top and matching necklace, American Morning’s legal eagle Sunny Hostin has returned to CNN’s nest.* Introduced by AM guest co-host Joe Johns as “legal analyst” and now listed on AM’s web site as correspondent, the sunny sweetie shone as she explained newly enacted laws for the year 2009. AM fans, your hula hoop honey has come home!

Sunny F&F A.M.

December 22, 2008

Is Sunny Hostin back on FNC? It certainly appears that the CNN American Morning legal eagle has returned to her earlier roost. This morning the ebony beauty appeared on Fox & Friends’ curvy couch to discuss the Blagojevich case with F&F co-hosts Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. Sunny was introduced as a former federal prosecutor: no mention of her being or having been a CNN legal analyst for F&F rival, American Morning, was made.

Sunny had been a legal analyst for FNC’s O’Reilly Factor until she signed with CNN in September of 2007. It appears that she may have have had a one-year contract with the cable news network. Her bio has been removed from AM’s web site and she does not appear on the CNN list of reporters.

Was her appearance today on F&F merely that or does it augur a more permanent role in the FNC family? Stay tuned.

Kiran: Sunny “Honey”

November 18, 2008

Did Kiran disclose an off-camera moniker for CNN’s legal eagle Sunny Hostin? After a presidential pardon segment with Sunny yesterday, American Morning’s co-host Kiran Chetry said, “Thanks so much, Honey!” Trying to recoup from her verbal slip, Kiran added, “Honey and Sunny, so good to see you.” Sunny smiled and responded, “Honey’s fine.” As they shared a good laugh, co-anchor John Roberts aptly added, “As long as you say it and not me.”

Sound familiar, Carpe Diem reader?

Hula Hoop Honey

Hula Hoop Honey

June 5, 2008

American Morning’s Sunny Hostin had her “sexy groove on” (as Kyra Phillips observed) when promoting a Dr. Sanjay Gupta segment entitled “WII-Habilitation: Gaming for Your Health.” AM’s legal eagle shook “it like a Polaroid picture” as she performed in form-fitting black pants a hula hoop exercise geared toward couch potatoes young and old. (H-POD Ali Velshi bravely tried to compete with the hula hoop honey but to no avail. ) Welcome to CNN’s hottie realm, Sunny!
