Ainsley Approves Attack on Reagan?

April 30, 2016

Earhardt: “You kinda have to find a little humor in some sad things that happen in life.”  Actually, Ainsley, you don’t, especially when that humor is at the expense of the victims themselves, including those victims of dementia such as President Reagan.

Last Thursday (April 30), Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt signaled her approval of Will Ferrell’s starring in and producing a comedic movie that purportedly would mock the now deceased former President Ronald Reagan in his final term as President as being addled by dementia although evidence suggests otherwise according to Reagan’s White House physicians (New Yorker). Ironically, Friday, after fallout from Reagan’s family and other Alzheimer’s victim advocates, the besieged flagging actor Ferrell announced through a spokesman that he would “not [be] pursing this project.”

Introducing F&F co-anchor Steve Doocey‘s man-on-the-street-interview segment (subtitled “A Laughing Matter? Will Ferrell to Star in Comedy about Reagan”), co-host Brian Kilmeade sarcastically said, “So, we told you earlier that Will Ferrell’s going to be producing and will be starring in a movie as Ronald Reagan….And, it’s going to be a comedy, Steve: And, it’s going to be a comedy because it’s so funny that Ronald Reagan lost his memory!”

As the segment concluded, Ainsley remarked, “Steve, I just think a lot of people will go see it because they like Will Ferrell: I think they expect it to be funny. Shaking her head “no” as if she did not believe a word that she was saying, she added, “And, you kinda have to find a little humor in some sad things that happen in life.”

But, Ainsley, that “little humor” should never be at the expense of the victim. And, if so, the heartless comedian becomes the real joke.

F&FW Mystery: Where Was Clayton?

April 24, 2016

Tucker Carlson: “It must be a little confusing.” Yes, it was! Yesterday, Fox & Friends co-anchor Brian Kilmeade took the usual seat of regular F&FW co-host Clayton Morris without any explanation as to where Clayton was. Today, F&F co-anchor Steve Doocy took his screen-left, usual place on the curvy couch as F&FW co-host Tucker Carlson abdicated his alpha male spot for Steve.

Saturday, it was interesting to watch as Brian tried to awkwardly deflect the “elephant in the room” with humor.* As the show began to “Kung Fu Fighting” with martial artists practicing on the patio, Tucker simply greeted his guest co-anchor with a “good morning” by name, and Brian jested, “Good morning! That was Krav Maga: And, that is a [sic] elite form of what seems to me to be mixed martial arts. It’s a way to be lethal by the end of this five-to-seven hour show.” In the second hour,  when F&FW co-anchor Anna Kooiman proclaimed “Brian Kilmeade in the house today,” he joked, “Yeah, I’m privileged to be here, especially, on National Picnic Day.” As the third hour began, no mention was made of Brian’s taking Clayton’s usual spot on the curvy couch or Clayton’s absence: Rather, they seamless discussed anew Kray Maga after opening to its practitioners jousting on the veranda without need for Brian’s comedy. When the final hour arrived, Anna again introduced Brian, saying, “Everybody, Brian Kilmeade’s in the house today!” Smiling, Brian chuckled, “I had no idea this was four hours!” Subsequently, he joshed that he had come in on his solar private plan. Look away, F&FW fan: No diversion here.

Today, was another day: But, no acknowledgement of Clayton as the other male Fox & Friends weekday co-anchor Steve Doocy took his usual place on the curvy couch, relegating Tucker to Clayton’s beta male position on the right of the screen for the day.** However, today Steve did what Brian did not do, try to explain his presence albeit without revealing the reason for Clayton’s absence.

As the show started today, Steve declared, “Just saying right now, it is not Monday! People are going to being emailing shortly, What are you doing in?” Chiming in, Tucker said, “It must be a little confusing.” Turning to Tucker, Steve responded, “A little confusing to some people and you, in particular, Tucker, because I, you are often on this spot here.” Sounding less than convincing, Tucker answered, “It is one of those little tricks we like to play on Sunday morning just in case you’re hungover”: Even less so, Steve replied, “That’s right. But this is the Sunday before a bunch of big elections, primaries on Tuesday, and so I came in because I needed some OT.”

In the second hour today, Tucker welcomed Steve, exclaiming, “By the way, it is so great to see you! It’s not even a weekday, and you have take time from your busy schedule to come here.” Looking at Steve, Anna exclaimed, “Yes! Thank you for that!” Shrugging his shoulders, Steve answered, “There’s a lot going on!” Once again, less than convincingly, he added, “I, you know, there’s so much going on in politics, you want to be here as much as possible to tell the folks about what’s going on.”

Opening the third and final hours, Steve’s strange appearance on Sunday was not noted nor Clayton’s odd absence explained. An uncharacteristically uncomfortable Brian Saturday and seemingly spinning Steve today make Clayton’s absence all the more mysterious.

Yes, Tucker, it is “a little confusing.” And, Steve, there does seem to be “a lot going on” but not with politics–at least, today. Brian and Steve, it was great to see you both on the curvy couch this weekend: But, where was Clayton?

Kilmeade Disses “Nerd” Kevin?

April 24, 2016

Brian: “Thanks for loving us.” Friday, Fox & Friends co-anchor Brian Kilmeade was no Clayton Morris: And, that was not necessarily a bad thing. In a movie review segment with Nerdtears.com founder Kevin McCarthy, he was not showing the love to McCarthy a la Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Clayton Morris.

As his Friday review of “Elvis and Nixon” drew to a close, McCarthy gushed, “So, I’m the last interview of the day. And, this, this is so cool! So, I’m walking out of the room, and Kevin Spacey [Nixon] and Michael Shannon are leaving the room. And down the hall there’s like this big poster of the film where they have the faces cut out of Elvis and Nixon, and you…do it for a promotional thing: You put your face in there and put it on social media. So, Kevin Spacey and Michael Shannon did a face swap of themselves: So, I’m snapping this photograph, and I had to get a quick selfie of myself just standing there with them. I don’t know…I was nerding out a little bit. I mean it was Kevin Spacey from “American Beauty” and “Seven.” It was a cool moment!”

After producers ran the selfie of McCarthy with Spacey and Shannon face swapping in the poster of “Elvis and Nixon,” co-anchor Ainsley Earhardt flattered McCarthy, saying, “Maybe, they’ll make a movie out of your photo next!” Laughing, McCarthy replied, “That would be amazing! That’s going to be the next most requested photo ever at the National Archives.” Chiming in, Brian acerbically remarked, “Kevin, it’s just amazing…they didn’t ask you to hang out because they were so close to the door.”

As the segment concluded, McCarthy ingratiatingly exclaimed, “Thank you guys for having me on! I love you guys!” Instead of responding in kind, Brian retorted, “Thanks for loving us!”

Poor Kevin McCarthy looking for love: And, not getting any from Brian. Where’s Clayton?

Aly Honored by NOIAW

April 16, 2016

Camerota: “You Sexy Thing”! Today, FOX-y CNN New Day co-anchor Alisyn Camerota was honored by the National Organization of Italian American Women at their 35th Anniversary Luncheon today: The NOIAW has not released the reasons for the honor on their FB site yet. But, Aly’s achievements speak for themselves: As her faithful fans know, the Italian lovely was thrice Fox & Friends Weekend co-host (FNC) and is now New Day co-host–not to mention her stints with NBC and ABC.

Today, Alisyn’s lovely and loyal personal assistant Jennifer Rivera seemed rightly pleased, twice Tweeting, “Couldn’t be prouder of @alisyncamerota. [Hand clap emoji]….#2016NOIAWHonoree.” For good measure, she included a seemingly celebratory photo of the two together in her post.

Congratulations, Aly!

[Author’s aside: Re “You Sexy Thing,” in the subtitle, that sensual song was the first one that Aly and her hubby Tim Lewis danced to at their wedding: Unfortunately, she seemingly deleted a vid of that special moment from her Fox & Friends Weekend “In the Green Room” blog.]

Jenna Lee & Hubby SEAL’s Pup

April 10, 2016

Liberty Josephine Babin arrives! Friday, The Five co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle gleefully announced the advent of the daughter of Happening Now co-anchor Jenna Lee and her hubby, retired Navy SEAL Lt. Cmdr. Leif Babin [NYT wedding profile of Jenna and Leif]. At the end of the show [FNC vid], Kimberly proclaimed, “Well, I have a very exciting ‘One More Thing’ today.”*

Gleaming with joy, Kimberly continued, “Super delighted because we have a new baby in the Fox News house. As a photo of the newborn aired, she exclaimed, “Yes, indeed! That is Liberty Josephine Babin and that is the beautiful, beautiful daughter of our very own Jenna Lee and Leif. We are super excited for them.”

Elaborating, Kimberly revealed, “Born eight pounds, five ounces on Tuesday. And, her name was chosen many years ago during a phone conversation between Jenna and Leif. And, her daddy was in Iraq, deployed there….And, Jenna at that time when she was talking to Leif, [she] was looking at the Statue of Liberty….And, the middle name is in honor of her great grandmother.”

Congratulations, Jenna and Leif!

[Author’s note: Jenna and Leif’s son, Brian Marc [nicknamed Trace (pic)] now has a little sister.]

Trump Addles Aly

April 7, 2016

And Confuses Cuomo!  Daftly, New Day co-anchors Alisyn Camerota and Chris Cuomo laughed uproariously at The Donald after a clip wherein Trump instructed his supporters about the proper spelling of his malignant moniker for his GOP Presidential opponent Ted Cruz (“Lyin’Ted”). Unfortunately for Aly and Chris, they ironically gave their fans a laugh–at their expense.

As the “B block” of the first hour began, vid ran of Trump supporters chanting, “Lyin’ Ted, Lyin’ Ted, Lyin’Ted”: Responding, The Donald declared, “He is Lyin’ Ted….But, you have to spell it right: It’s L-Y-I-N apostrophe, Lyin’ Ted!”*

As the vid ended, the camera honed in on Aly and Chris, who laughed heartily with their shoulders heaving in simpatico. Chuckling, Chris said, “We’re trying to figure out why Trump wants it spelled the right way. I said, ‘Maybe he trademarked it or something like that.'” Chiming in, Aly replied, “Since when he’s a stickler for spelling? I was confused about that one.”

Actually, it is quite simple, Aly and Chris. Remember the homophone? Trump wants his listeners to think of Cruz as “Lyin’ Ted.” Not “Lion Ted.”

Ainsley Pleas Anew for Kidney

April 3, 2016

Earhardt: “She’s gone through this long ordeal.” Wednesday, Fox & Friends co-host Ainsley Earhardt pleaded with her viewers for a kidney for her mother: Unfortunately, she erroneously gave them her mom’s blood type as O-Negative. During an interview Thursday (with a total stranger who gave his kidney to another and the beneficiary of that donation),* she corrected herself, saying, “Yesterday, I said [that] her blood type is O-Negative: But, it is actually O-Positive.”

During the interview of the generous donor Nate Toci and grateful donee Kelsey Crider, Ainsley remarked, “Nate, my mom is on the list–I mentioned this yesterday when I heard your story–for a kidney transplant at two different hospitals right now ’cause you have to get on a list at each hospital. She’s gone through this long ordeal. She has type-1 diabetes. And, yesterday, I said her blood type is O-Negative: But, it is actually O-Positive.”

Pointing to the camera, Ainsley added, “And, thanks to the viewers who have written me about this.” Elaborately, as she turned her attention to Nate, she said, “I’d love to get my mom a kidney but we’re not a match.”

And, once again, dear reader, if you have a matching blood type and wish to donate to Ainsley mom, you can contact Ainsley at https://twitter.com/ainsleyearhardt.
