FNC Host: Trump Spewing Lies

November 26, 2015

Will The Donald take it lying down? On this Thanksgiving afternoon, FNC honcho Roger Ailes must be having indigestion: His latest Fox News anchor to tangle with GOP Presidential front runner Donald TrumpHappening Now co-host Gregg Jarrett, deemed Trump a liar.

First, there was the Megyn “affair”: Now, there is the Jarrett jeer.

In the first GOP debate (in August), FNC anchor Megyn Kelly, co-moderated the first Republican Presidential debate and took what was perceived by The Donald as a cheap shot re the purported “war on women.” Ever The Donald, he robustly defended himself, declaring that he was often not politically correct: Subsequently, he acerbically asserted, “And, frankly, what I say, and oftentimes it’s fun, it’s kidding, we have a good time: What I say, is what I say. And, honestly, Megyn, if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you although I could probably, maybe not be, based on the way you’ve treated me but I wouldn’t do that.” [Vid clip of the exchange.]

And, then the war was on–until Trump and FNC chief Roger Ailes appeared to call a truce with a few  seeming “violations.” However, it did not last long when The Donald took a subsequent shot at Kelly in a Tweet, calling her “a lightweight” and “overrated”: Apparently, Ailes was not amused, and The Donald’s appearance on the “O’Reilly Factor was cancelled. No shrinking violet, Trump hit back with a boycott of Fox News. Ailes apparently relented to the ratings magnet when The Donald returned to the O’Reilly Factor, and Trump has been regularly booked ever since on Fox News shows.

Today, Ailes’ erstwhile errant anchorHappening Now co-host Gregg Jarrett, ignited a probable feud again by deeming Trump a liar. In a segment subtitled “Trump’s Chances of Winning WH” with Democratic strategist and pollster Jessica Tarlov (Senior Strategist of Schoen Consulting) and Kevin McCullough (a radio host nationally syndicated),  Jarrett, with a twinkle in his eye, remarked, “Donald Trump has been spewing canards.”* When Tarlov guffawed, “That’s such a polite way of saying it,” Jarrett chuckled, “That, that essentially means lies. But, I was trying to be nice.” He added, “Um, and, just in the past week, I mean, one after another, after another.”

Looking at his notes with his reading glasses in his hand, Jarrett continued, “He said, I saw thousands and thousands of people in New Jersey cheering the 9/11 attacks when the Towers fell.” Chuckling, he declared, “Officials in the state say that’s not true [and that] there’s no proof of that: Politifact gave it a ‘pants-on-fire’ rating.” Subsequently, Jarrett challenged Trump’s assertions as to the percentage of whites killed by blacks, citing the F.B.I., and the number of Syrian refugees that the President intends to brings into the U.S.

In conclusion, Jarrett jeered, “And, the Washington Post, in summarizing all of these things he’s saying, said quote, ‘Trump has lied so many times about so many things during the past week, it’s difficult to keep track of all of them.'” As Tarlov began to answer, Jarrett asked, “But, is he ever going to be held accountable for this stuff?”

Trump a liar? Doubtlessly, The Donald will respond. And, Gregg may not be as lucky as Megyn.

F&F’s Hasselbeck Out: Who’s In?

November 23, 2015

“I’m just waiting on a Friend!” Today, FNC announced that Fox & Friends co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck is on her way out and that she is expected to exit the early morn cable news champ in late December according to “Variety” magazine. Elisabeth, F&F fans barely knew you!

Only two years ago (September 16, 2013), sexy Survivor celeb and The View’s erstwhile conservative co-anchor Elisabeth became the belle of the ball, replacing flirty 1989 Miss America beauty, Gretchen Carlson, who never really seemed to quite click with her male co-hosts, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade. In contrast, Elisabeth was the sweet married hottie that put her boys on the curvy couch on notice from the start that she considered them brothers.

To the author who has followed F&F since the days of E. D. Donahey (a/k/a E. D. Hill), Elisabeth seemed like such a sweet, sincere soul that he could not easily snark or snipe at her–even when she became mawkish and maudlin. Nevertheless, she seemed like an odd choice for F&F‘s then EVP of Programming Bill Shine over the much beloved Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Alisyn Camerota who oft held court from the center seat on the weekend curvy couch when Gretchen was away. Of course, the long-time F&F fan was not overly surprised since Shine had similarly overlooked E. D.’s obvious successor, the smart, sexy, and charismatic F&FW co-anchor Kiran Chetry.

Perhaps, Shine will bring back comely Kiran: But, it is somewhat doubtful in light of the manner that Kiran was reportedly dismissed. If he is not ready to bring Kiran back into the fold, perchance, he will consider Aly who was always there for him on F&F First, F&F Weekend, and F&F weekday (as a sub, especially during the big news special editions). If Shine wants to stay with the Fox stable, he may want to consider Greek goddess Nicole Petallides who brings sexy back on FBN:AM on a daily basis (as F&FF once did).

[Author’s aside: Best of luck, Elisabeth! Hopefully, you will enjoy much joy, peace, success with the fam in the present and in your career in the future.]

Huddy Replaces M.I.A. Kooiman?

November 22, 2015

Not quite: But, to paraphrase President Obama, she’ll do–at least, for today. Yesterday, Outnumbered co-host Sandra Smith subbed for Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Anna Kooiman: But, the priggish, lovely L.S.U. tomboy certainly was no threat to the sexy, vivacious Anna. Today, a more matronly, jaunty Juliet Huddy sat anew in her erstwhile seat on the F&FW curvy couch for the comely Kooiman: But, the Heboken honey in red with her priggish high neckline, low hemline, and elbow cuffs [Pic via J$] was assuredly no threat to the smart, sweet, sexy Southern belle, who happily flaunts her tanned, toned stems to her F&FW fans as she keeps them au courant.

Where was Anna who has been gone for the last two weekends? As to last weekend, the author fears that she and her co-host Clayton Morris were replaced for more seasoned journos in the aftermath of the Paris bombings (F&F Saturday, F&F Sunday). Re this weekend, Anna Tweeted (with pics), “Can’t wait to celebrate this beautiful bride over her wedding weekend! Congratulations cuzzzz!”

Hurry back, Anna! You are missed!

Clayton & Anna Pulled Again

November 15, 2015

Kilmeade: “Special @foxandfriends.” Today, Fox & Friends Weekend co-anchors Clayton Morris and Anna Kooiman were pulled again from the curvy couch Sunday morning. Explaining the absence of the two F&FW co-hosts before the show began, Fox & Friends weekday co-host Brian Kilmeade Tweeted, “Looking forward @ working w/ & on special all over the world focusing on @ISIS & FRANCE.” I.e., no worries, viewers, the big boys and the big gals remain in charge on Fox & Friends Weekend: When things settle down in the world, Clayton and Anna will be back.

F&FW’s Clayton & Anna Pulled

November 14, 2015

Jon & Kimberly join Tucker to form the Fox & Friends Weekend “A-Team” Saturday. Co-hosts Clayton Morris and Anna Kooiman were pulled from the F&FW Saturday lineup this morning in the wake of the horrific terrorist attacks on France Friday evening (local time) that left 127 dead and 200 others injured (99 in critically condition). In their stead, F&FW substituted more seasoned FNC veterans, Happening Now co-host Jon Scott and Five co-anchor and guest co-host Kimberly Guilfoyle. Notably, today Tucker got to stay in the game. [Two years ago (04/20/13), after the capture of the last of the Boston Marathon bomber brothers, Tucker and Clayton both were temporarily demoted on F&FW (Saturday) in favor of FNC heavyweights Brian Kilmeade and–yes, dear reader–the very same Jon Scott: Perhaps, to Clayton and Tucker’s chagrin, their then F&FW ace co-anchor Alisyn Camerota aptly stayed in the game.]

At the end of weekday Fox & Friends yesterday, Clayton and Anna promoted their then upcoming F&FW Saturday with promises of guest appearances of “one of the premier psychics in the world, Laura Lynne Jackson” and of Santa Claus. Concluding the show, a smiling and waving Anna sweetly declared, “Bye, everybody! See you dark and early tomorrow!” But, it was not to be: Clayton and Anna had to leave the field.

When there is explosive hard news to cover, F&FW knows full well that they need to go to their “A Team.” And, today they did–with Jon and Kimberly. But, there is still hope for tech geek Clayton and alluring lovely Anna to make F&FW‘s “A-Team”: After all, Tucker got his call today.

Rick Reichmuth Mute: Married?

November 8, 2015

Wow! Wedding ring suddenly appears!* Proud long-time bachelor Fox & Friends Weekend meteorologist Rick Reichmuth appears to have finally got hitched. Even though he was sporting his golden wedding band for the world to see, he said nary a word about his apparent new status as a married man.

Best wishes for you and your new apparent spouse, Rick! Wedding pics and a few words are in order: Spill the beans!

Mommy Ainsley: Baby Hayden

November 7, 2015

Earhardt: “Welcome to this world, Hayden Dubose Proctor.” Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt and her hubby Will Proctor were overjoyed at the arrival of their baby daughter Hayden yesterday. With accompanying pics, Ainsley ecstatically Tweeted, “We are absolutely thrilled to welcome our new baby girl, Hayden, into this world. My husband and I are overjoyed!!”

Elaborating, Ainsley remarked, “We love her so much already.” To her bundle of joy, she said, “Welcome to this world, Hayden Dubose Proctor.” And, with a photo of herself looking lovingly at her newborn Hayden happily ensconced in her bosom, Ainsley declared, “My heart. I will cherish these moments for the rest of my life.”

Re the requisite details, Ainsley Tweeted, “God answered prayers. She’s healthy & happy. 7 lbs. 13 oz, 20″ long. Blue eyes/brown hair.”

Congratulations, Ainsley and Will! And, welcome, Hayden Dubose!

[Author’s aside: Andrea Tantaros and Kimberly Guilfoyle embrace Hayden, respectively (pic 1, pic 2).]

Beefcake Brian: Bare Chested!

November 6, 2015

Elisabeth: “I’m not looking!” Fox & Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade proved Thursday that FNC does not just provide viewers cheesecake with its news but, on occasion, a bit of beefcake. Why not give guys and gals a little levity to ameliorate the gravity of the Presidential campaign, the threat of ISIS, etc.?

In a fashion segment featuring Bookatailor.com [in which the men’s custom clothing company brought their auto and the F&F male co-hosts’ pre-ordered custom suits to the Fox News patio] on the FNC patio, co-anchors Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade teased their femme fans with the possibility of Playgirl exposure.* Pointing to a partitioned corner of the patio to help introduce the piece, Steve declared, “We’re going to get dressed behind this black curtain. On the other side of the black curtain is a window to the Green room: the people in the Green room, much like an aquarium, will watch Brian and I get dressed. Chiming in, Brian responded, “Right! Steve, I’m also worried about people who are looking down from the twenty-six flights.”

As the F&F guys changed, co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck began to interview the Bookatailor.com rep: However, the F&F boys wanted their attention. From behind the black curtain, Steve exclaimed, “Hey, Elisabeth! Elisabeth, the people in the Green Room are looking at us!” Racily, Elisabeth remarked, “Well, what are they seeing right now?”

Heading toward the black curtain, Elisabeth asked, “How’s the progress? You need me to take any of your clothes out?” As Steve and Brian handed her their clothes through the parted curtains, a shirtless Brian could be seen putting on his white dress shirt. Looking at the camera reassuringly, Elisabeth smiling asserted, “I’m not looking!”

But F&F viewers were. For some of us, it was not the most welcome sight: But, for others, it may well have been. Now, to paraphrase that icon Wendy’s phrase, “Where’s the cheesecake?”

Racy Aly: “Something on the Sofa”

November 2, 2015

Carol Costello: “Oh, I wish I hadn’t heard that, Alisyn!” Monday morning, New Day co-host Alisyn Camerota returned to her risque Fox & Friends Weekend days as she concluded the “The Good Stuff.”

As the final segment of ND drew to a close, Aly congratulated ND technical director Beth and her husband on the birth of their first child. As co-anchor Chris Cuomo cooed over one of the sweet baby pics, co-host Michael Pereira looked over at Aly, saying, “We have babies all over the place. Don’t drink the water!”

In reply, Aly deadpanned, “I know. I guess not.” Caressing the sofa with both of her hands, she naughtily jested, “Maybe, there’s something on the sofa. No!”

Arching his eyebrows and shaking his head in disbelief at Aly’s bawdy quip, Chris stammered, “Oh, that’s s[ick?]. Again!” As Aly laughed heartily and a chagrinned Chris grimaced, Michaela smilingly exclaimed, “Hey, now! I’m gonna leave it there! Time for Newsroom with Carol Costello on this Monday morning. Good morning, Carol!”

Taking Michaela’s toss, an incredulous Carol laughed, “Oh, I wish I hadn’t heard that, Alisyn!”

New Day with Aly: not exactly your father’s CNN!

Missing Ainsley? She’s on Maternity Leave

November 2, 2015

Earhardt: “Just pray for me!” Friday, Fox & Friends First co-host Heather Childress revealed that her co-anchor Ainsley Earhardt was going on maternity leave as their show concluded. But, Ainsley seemed to indicate that her departure just might be a bit more.

When Heather made her announcement, a crew member brought a bouquet of flowers and a few pieces of cake to a smiling Ainsley.

Smiling, Ainsley, exclaimed, “How wonderful! These are beautiful! Thank you, Matt!”

Interjecting, Heather declared, “We are really going to miss you, and we know that you are going to be a wonderful, wonderful mom.”

In reply, Ainsley said, “Oh, you’re so sweet! Thank you for your support. I love you!”

Turning to her audience, Ainsley continued, “I love all of you! Ya’ll have been so supportive and so loving. And next time I see you all, I’ll have a baby! Life is about to change!”

Chiming in, Heather said, “Yes, you will: Not sure if it’s going to be a baby boy or [a] baby girl.”

In response, Ainsley stated, “We don’t know! We’re going to be surprised.”

Opening up further with her fans more intimately, Ainsley disclosed, “I did find out [that] the baby is breached. So, we have a scheduled C-section for next Friday….Today’s my last day on air. I will be here for a few more days.”

Sounding almost as if her maternity leave were permanent, Ainsley again declared, “Today’s my last day on air. So, I’ve loved every minute of it. I feel so fortunate. And, just pray for me.” Then she added, “Pray for a healthy baby, please!”

Clutching her flowers, Ainsley concluded, “Thanks to our producers who gave us time to do this today. Ya’ll have all been wonderful. I just feel loved. And, ya’ll are all so special to me.”

Beaming, Ainsley blew her fans a big kiss, saying, “Thank you. Bye!”

Prayers for a good delivery and a healthy baby, Ainsley!
