Clayton’s Back! Why?

September 20, 2016

Heather Childress: “Something a little bit different this morning.”* Fox & Friends First, generally, has been–and should be–a boy-free anchor zone. Unfortunately, the FNC brass seems to be inanely tinkering with the concept of feminine pulchritude arousing F&FF fans aptly in the morn. To wit, true to his word, Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Clayton Morris was back again as an F&FF co-host this early morn: He looked like the sad sack who wanted to be a Hooter’s waiter: It just does not work.

Clayton, you are fine on the curvy couch as a bookend to the “fox” du jour on Fox & Friends Weekend: But, sorry, you are an amusing annoyance as a F&FF co-host trying to supplant such beauties as Abby Huntsman or Heather Nauert.

F&FF co-hosts: Only lovelies need apply!

[Author’s aside: As a kind, savvy source apprised me, Clayton’s FNC bio now includes him as an F&FF co-host: Hopefully, it was in error.]

Heather: Happening Now Happily

September 22, 2014

Tony Snow: “God made you beautiful: Now you’ve got to make yourself smart.” Quirky Fox & Friends newsreader Heather Nauert seems to have found a more fitting slot of late on FNC as guest co-host of Happening Now.  Paired with HN regular co-anchor Jon Scott oft now that Jenna Lee is on maternity leave, the “Chicago” chirper excels in her new chair as a sharp counterpart to FNC’s whilom Shakespearean actor/go-to aviation “expert” Jon: Consequently, fans of F&F are treated to a more mellifluous Carolinian cadence in the early morn as F&F First co-hosts Heather Childers and Ainsley Earhardt often fill in for Heather N. as headline news anchor.

F&F fans can now enjoy their show more as the Southern belle beauties ameliorate their Yankee (Rhode Island) colleague Elisabeth Hasselbeck‘s too oft nasal sounds with their delightful drawl. To boot, the viewers are not subjected to a pedantic Ms. Romper Room Nauert who too oft wants to “tell you about this” before she actually does.

Yes, the “younger sister of another Heather (Locklear)” is beautiful, and she is smart. But, she can be pedantic and irritating a la erstwhile F&F anchor Gretchen Carlson when she talks down to her audience who generally know as much or more than she does. Like the former Miss America [vid] with her new show (The Real Story with Gretchen Carlson), Heather now seems to be more relaxed and at ease on HN–not feeling as if she has to prove her smarts to her audience vis-a-vis the boys, F&F co-anchors Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy.

Heather Happening Now: beautiful, smart–and, finally, starting to chill.

“Trashy, Porn-Star Looking Chick, Heather”?

April 6, 2014

Childers hits back hard: “Dana McCall, I’m…glad you aren’t my dentist.” Fox & Friends First co-host Heather Childers was not amused, in the least, by the diss of her fellow North Carolinian, Dr. Dana McCall, Thursday morning: The Raleigh cosmetic dentist had Tweeted (Childers’ cap1), “Flipped by FOXNEWS and saw the trashy, porn-star looking chick, Heather, who used to be at News14. When did THAT happen? Wow. Really….bad.”

Responding on Facebook to McCall’s disparaging remark, Heather wrote, “Normally, I wouldn’t comment about something like this but because I share several mutual friends with this person, Dana McCall, I felt compelled to do so. Subsequently, she shared his Facebook profile and his business website address with her FB friends. Before adding another McCall link, she concluded, “Dana McCall, I’m at least glad you aren’t my dentist. I don’t know you, but if I have offended you in some way, I’m sorry. Would you want this said about your wife or daughter?”

In a later FB post Thursday afternoon, Heather penned, “Hey! Thanks for all the kind comments! I didn’t post that tweet with that intention….[But, when] I discovered the person who posted it knows some of my friends it surprised me.” Dismissively, she declared, “Even on my worst “bad hair” day I don’t think [that] I look like a trashy porn-star :-).” Following up in another post, she acerbically added, “Sure, sometimes it gets to you: But THEY are the joke. Not you.”

Later, in an evening FB missive, the true-blue FNC co-host Heather announced, “‘Fair & Balanced’ Update. He apologized and I accept :-) Thank you Dana. Past my bedtime! See everyone at 5 am ET tomorrow! Goodnight.” And, so he had, less than twelve hours after his offense–probably after being bombarded on his FB page, his website, and his phone by irate Heather fans during the day: On Twitter (Childer’s cap2), the good doctor took his medicine, Tweeting, Hey, @HeatherChilders. Sorry about that tweet. Congratulations on your successes.” However, the cosmetic dentist apparently did some cosmetic surgery on his own mouth, at least, on his Twitter page: he deleted both his offensive Tweet about Heather and his subsequent apology to her.

F&FF Fail: Mandela Mourner?!

December 6, 2013

Bizarre: Bronx train engineer “wrecked” with grief over the death of Mandela? Fox & Friends First producers made a flagrant faux pas or exercised incredibly bad judgment this morning. After Ainsley Earhardt introduced a segment on the passing of Nelson Mandela, reading, “This morning the world reacting to the news of Mandela’s death,” producers strangely ran an apparently cropped pic of the pained NYC train engineer (who reportedly drove his ill-fated Metro-North passengers off the rail in the Bronx, killing four and injuring 63):* Underneath the photo, the chyron blared, “South Africa’s “Greatest Son”: World Mourns Nelson Mandela.”** Yikes!

When the Mandela segment concluded, Ainsley and her co-host Heather Childers said not a word about the striking F&FF fail. Perhaps, they did not notice. Or, more likely, they felt too embarrassed to say a word.

But, someone should: So, Carpe Diem does.
