Nicole: Exhibitionist Angel?

April 26, 2010

Confessions of Nicole Petallides? Ever since Carpe Diem reported that Nicole heated up the Fox & Friends set by seemingly hiking her skirt twice for her Fox & Friends Weekend fans (October 11, 2009), the Foxy FBN correspondent has appeared to be almost persona non grata on FBN’s big sister network FNC. However, Nicole did make a rare appearance about three months later on Red Eye (January 9, 2010) where she kidded about being an “exhibitionist.”* Also, she returned once to F&FW (March 7, 2010) for a jobs report segment with co-host Dave Briggs: Nevertheless, for almost the entire interview, the producers appeared to studiously keep the chyron up to occlude a view of her legs (a la Elvis on the Ed Sullivan Show).**

What has become of this too-hot-for-FNC correspondent? Last Thursday and Friday, the Greek goddess who graces the New York Stock Exchange floor clad in quite conservative attire for FBN’s Countdown to the Closing Bell (CCB) guest-hosted on FBN’s Happy Hour with regular Rebecca Diamond nee Gomez and fill-in Sandra Smith for a special “Ladies’ Night” edition. Venus was reborn.

On Thursday, all three were such a distaff delight with their obvious smarts, informed analyses, and sexy short skirts that Happy Hour producers introduced the trio after one commercial break as “Foxy’s Angels” to the voice of John Forsythe and the theme song and graphics of Charlie’s Angels.*** A flattered Nicole remarked, “Can we see it again? Can we see it again between now and the end of the show? It went so fast!”

Similarly, Nicole’s F&FW admirers must be asking, “When can we see you again?”

*Red Eye – 01/09/10 (@3:04 a.m. ET): In a segment on a study that showed a cocaine vaccine made the addicts crave cocaine more, RE host Greg Gutfeld said, “What kind of behavior would you like to stop if there were a vaccine?” Nicole replied, “If I had a vaccine for myself? Um. Exhibitionist? Then, when Greg goatishly asked, “Really?” Nicole “innocently” answered, “No, no. Chocoholic?” Gutfeld sidekick Bill Shulz rakishly remarked, “Let’s get back to the other one!” Trying to tamp down the testosterone just a tad, Nicole riantly responded, “No, no, no, no. But this vaccine’s unbelievable….”I’m all for sex, drugs, and alcohol, and lots of fun but not ones that put you on your deathbed. Right? Or, make you go broke!”

John Roberts: “WTF!”

August 12, 2009

Not yet. American Morning co-anchor John Roberts has not quite dropped the “f” bomb but he came ever closer today. Less than two months ago, he used the hybrid “frucking” in frustration at a teleprompter’s bad info.* Today he went one step further and exclaimed, “WTF!”

During a “Best Band in the Land” segment which ranked the top acts, the rankings were as follow: Beatles at #1, Elvis at #5, Carrie Underwood #9, Jimi Hendrix #11, and Madonna #17. John, the Hall of Fame former MuchMusic veejay, said, “Wow! Wait a minute. Carrie Underwood at #9? I like Carrie Underwood just fine but WTF with her being in the top ten!” After audible ooh’s and laughter from the crew, John asked, “I didn’t do it again, did I?”

Chuckling, co-host Kiran Chetry disingenously declared, “I don’t know what that means!” Laughing, John responded, “What the flip? What the flip is she is doing in the #10 or #9 spot?”

Yes, John: You did it again! Now where does Britney rank on that list?

Gretch: Wager Weasel?

January 8, 2009

Fox & Friends co-host Gretchen Carlson seems to weasling out of her bet with F&F Weekend co-anchor Clayton Morris.* After a Consumer Electronics Show segment with Clayton showcasing the latest gadgets this morning, Gretch asked, “Hey, Clayton: ‘member that bet that we had?” Clayton replied, “Yeah, I remember.”

Gretchen continued, “Well, Brian may be willing to take a mulligan for me so we’re going to reveal that when you join us later on in the show.” Clayton cagily cracked, “Wait a second: that sounds like a scam to me.” Then F&F co-host Brian Kilmeade intoned, “Maybe, the Giants can do what the Vikings couldn’t and that’s beat your Eagles: Maybe, it’s time to factor me into this.”

When Clayton returned, nothing more was said about the wager between Gretchen and Clayton. More than likely, Gretch will not be wearing the Eagles’ jersey tomorrow nor singing their war anthem. As Elvis, today’s birthday boy, might say, “A little less conversation, a little more action, please.”**

F&F Bane: Christy Lane

December 21, 2008

She’s back! Christy Lane has saccharinely serenaded F&F fans since the days of Juliet Huddy and Mike Jerrick. Now like the unwelcome ghost from Christmas past she is at it again with her endless holiday music commercials on F&F. Her ad says, “Her voice has captured the world.” The author is reminded of the old Slim Witman commercial claiming that he “was number one in England longer than Elvis and the Beatles.” Enough!

Buttoned-Up AM

June 9, 2008

Is the fashion guru of Hillary Clinton whispering fashion advice into the ears of American Morning’s crew? Does a woman still have to ape a man in appearance to succeed? Please! Kyra Phillips wore a midi skirt just above her knee once again, today, with a white top that had a faux Mao collar done Elvis-style. Gasp! She did have one button undone. Alina Cho was even more conservative with her similar collar turned down and fully buttoned. The twins in white matched John Roberts’ shirt in color and almost in style. AM needs to remember the French phrase as to the sexes, “Viva la difference!” Especially, when it come to their resident Aphrodite, Kiran Chetry. Speaking of whom, when will she reappear?
