Clayton: My Wife in Bed

May 9, 2011

“Happy Mother’s Day. I love you, Hon!” Yesterday, Fox & Friends Weekend co-anchor Clayton Morris finally shared his wife, Natali Morris nee Del Conte, more fully with his fans. And, she did not seem to mind one whit. In fact, she seemed to revel in their rapt attention–not to mention, his full aegis–at last.

As Fox & Friends Weekend viewers may remember, Natali was rumored to be the gravid illicit lover of a married Clayton slightly over a year ago according to Mediaite.com. Almost four months later, the CNET TV news anchor (and whilom F&F tech guest) bore their love child: However, Clayton did not acknowledge Natali as his son’s mother even when he proudly heralded baby Miles Benjamin’s arrival with photos and video to the F&FW audience. Subsequently, Clayton wed Natali: Interestingly, he still refrained from mentioning her name on F&FW air even when he showed a photo album of their son which included photos of Natali to his viewers. Nevertheless, on Christmas Day 2010, Clayton began to rectify his omissions by calling Natali “my beloved wife Natali” when he showed a holiday photo of himself and his new family to F&FW fans.

On Mother’s Day, Clayton went one step further and literally embraced Natali as his new spouse on air in what appeared to be a made-for-TV moment. Seemingly, eager to receive this on-air imprimatur, Natali took the “Red Eye” to get to the FNC studio on time according to Clayton’s co-anchor Dave Briggs.* Furthermore, apparently, pumped producers thrice promoted the breakfast-in-bed block with preview shots of the sexy young mom and her adorable child together.

During the segment itself, Clayton served a chef-confected breakfast of soft-crab omelet and mom mimosa to Natali who was sitting in the bed and cradling their baby Miles. As Clayton did, he lovingly took their son into his arms and then kissed Natali on the top of her head, saying, “Happy Mother’s Day. I love you, Hon!” Turning to Clayton with a smile, Natali grabbed his waist and responded, “Thank you very much!”

As the segment ended, Clayton jested, “See, now, this gets me off the hook…from having to do anything else the rest of the day.” As his co-hosts Dave and Molly Line took his toss, they laughed at that notion. Looking down at Natali, Clayton comically queried, “Does it?”  Arching her eyebrows and shrugging her shoulders, a grinning Natali gamely proclaimed, “Sure!”

As the Virginia Slims ads said, “Natali, you’ve come a long way, baby!” Or, rather, was it Clayton?

Clayton Weds Natali

October 21, 2010

Today  CNET news anchor Natali Del Conte announced that she and Fox & Friends Weekend co-anchor Clayton Morris tied the knot yesterday. During CNET’s 404 Podcast, the beautiful bride also revealed that they had wed in a “very little ceremony” at city hall during her lunch break. As to her new hubby, she proudly proclaimed, “He is an amazing father [to their almost three-month-old son, Miles Benjamin Morris]….He’s a better father than I ever, ever could have imagined.” Blissfully, she gushed, “I’ve been so lucky!”

Best wishes, Natali, and congratulations, Clayton!

Father Morris Meddles?

August 15, 2010

Fox & Friends Weekend co-hosts: Pray together with significant other tomorrow morning? The usually nimble Father Jonathan Morris, an FNC contributor, may have gone from preaching to “meddling” this morning on F&FW. During his segment entitled “Pray Together, Stay Together” (concerning a new study published in the August edition of Journal of Marriage and Family), Father Jon noted that only 0.3% of “couples that pray together every day…end up separating.”* As he concluded his story, he pointed in turn to F&FW co-hosts, Dave Briggs, Courtney Friel, and Clayton Morris, asking, “So tomorrow morning, yes, yes, with your spouses?”

Perhaps, not expecting Father Jon to directly apply his homily to them, the three co-hosts looked rather sheepish. With widened eyes, Courtney reluctantly shook her head “yes.” Clayton, perhaps, in the most awkward position, deftly deflected the padre’s query, riposting, “I’ll be praying.” Hedging, Dave answered, “We will keep that in mind.”

[Aside: As to the alluded to F&FW couples, supra, Courtney is married to CNN Newsource correspondent Carter Evans; Clayton is now together with CNET anchor Natali Del Conte; and Dave is married to attorney and former Colorado Congressional candidate, Brandi Moreland Briggs.]

Natali: “My Baby Boy Miles”

August 1, 2010

Clayton is his father. Sunday CNET TV anchor Natali Del Conte confirmed Sunday that she is indeed that “Natali” that is the mother of Clayton’s child, Miles Benjamin Morris. In a Tweet yesterday evening, Natali stated, “My baby boy Miles made his first network TV appearance today! He’s a star!! http://bit.ly/9xZpvv” In this missive, she linked to the Fox & Friends Weekend video entitled, “Welcome Miles Benjamin Morris! Clayton shares photos and home movies of his newborn son.”

In that clip played on F&FW Sunday morning, Clayton is shown at home changing the diaper of his son for the very first time. Co-anchor Dave Briggs stated that the video had been sent in by Miles’ mother and identified her only as “Natali.” Even though viewers may have had little question as to her identity, Natali herself removed all doubts Sunday evening in her Tweet.

Welcome, Miles!

Natali: Morris’ “Mamma Mia”

July 31, 2010

Clayton’s baby boy: Miles Benjamin Morris. As Fox & Friends Weekend began this morning, co-host Clayton Morris joyfully showed off photos of his newborn son and himself to his co-hosts, Alisyn Camerota and Dave Briggs, and to his F&FW audience. As he did, the now single Clayton expressed his elation at being a father but never showed a photo of the mother of his child nor even mentioned her. However, later, during the show, Dave let the cat out of the proverbial bag by naming her twice.

Of course, fans of Clayton have long had a good idea of the name of his presumed paramour. On April 12, Mediaite.com disclosed that it had received a tip that a married Clayton had a relationship with CNET anchor, Natali Del Conte and that she was rumored to be pregnant with their love child. (Further, the source indicated that Clayton’s wife Sara Batterson Morris had started divorce proceedings.) On June 20 (Father’s Day) on F&FW, Clayton revealed, “I’m going to be a new dad”: Only a day earlier, Natalie had Tweeted, “My mom and sister are throwing me the baby shower of the century today.”

However, recent tweets by Clayton, Natalie, and tech friend Ryan Block appeared to conclusively identity Clayton’s lady. On Monday (July 27), Clayton joyfully Tweeted, I’m better than ever. Had a son a today. Was at hospital all day. Trying to finally sleep now.” On Tuesday (July 28), Natalie Tweeted, “Excited to take my son home from the hospital today. That’s right, it’s a boy! Healthy and handsome!” Tellingly, the very next morning Wednesday, Clayton Tweeted, “I was supposed to be in today but just had my son. First night home from hospital.” Then, Thursday, in a now deleted Tweet, Ryan Block wrote, “Still catching up from Seattle, but belated congratulations to @natalidelconte and @claytonmorris on the arrival of Miles!”

If Clayton or Natali’s more casual followers were still unaware of their apparent love child, Dave Briggs appeared intent on spreading the word to them. In the final hour of F&FW, Dave and Aly seemingly surprised Clayton with footage of him changing Miles: Dave added that Miles’ mother Natali had sent in the video. If the viewer missed it the first time, Dave repeated her name. Perhaps, at the behest of Clayton, Dave began the introduction of Natali to his F&FW viewers.

Even though neither Clayton nor Natali have yet acknowledged that they have a child together publicly, to the author’s knowledge, it appears pellucidly clear that they do indeed share a son–and his name is Miles Benjamin Morris.
