Comely Kiran Crowns New Miss Nepal US [Pic]

August 18, 2013

Chetry comes back for an encore. Former CNN/FNC anchor Kiran Chetry returned to the limelight last night to crown the 2013 Miss Nepal US at the Queens Theater in New York City. Before doing so, Kiran excitedly alerted her fans, Tweeting, “I’m judging tonight’s amazing #missnepalus pageant! Joining Miss Nepal 2002 Malvika Subba, Kiran scored sixteen sexy, talented contestants (video) and awarded the title to the beautiful Bartika Rai of New York. After doing so, Kiran a/k/a Ms. Nepal US emerita, personally placed the coveted tiara on Miss Rai.

For her fans who have missed her since her days as CNN’s “Chetrylicious” American Morning anchor, Kiran proved that she still has the look–and the legs. As she installed the lovely 2013 Miss Nepal US, the sexy Nepalese American journalist herself wowed the crowd in her short, strapless “little black dress.” [Pic]

Hurry back, Kiran!

Kiran: Chetrylicious Still?

November 21, 2012

K.C.: “Thanks for the honorable mention. i think.” Former FNC and CNN anchor Kiran Chetry may have exited cable news but she is far from forgotten. In “Sports Bank’s 1st Annual Hottest Female News Anchors” Top Ten list, the Nepalese beauty still earned an honorable mention even though she left “the building” almost a year and half ago. In fact, the “judge” indicated that otherwise she “would have easily made…[the]…Top 5.

Accepting her “hotness” award with good humor, Kiran Tweeted, “Thanks for the honorable mention. i think. lol.” Raising hopes anew for her fervid votaries, Kiran continued, “I’ll be back soon. one year wiser, one year older.”

However, taking issue with Kiran’s list placement, hubby Chris Knowles aptly remarked, “@Kiranchetrytv honorable mention? Clearly blind men took part in this survey.” Following Chris’ cue, one Kiran Twitter follower payed his own homage, succinctly saying, “Namaste rani….” Meanwhile, another acolyte chimed, “You should be #1 on that list. You r the most beautiful and professional reporter I have come across.”

As long-time readers may recall, Carpe Diem coined the term “Chetrylicious” for Kiran over four years ago. Subsequently, American Morning EP Jamie Kraft seemed to embrace the moniker: E.g., during one AM, when the author suggested that he show Kiran dancing on camera, he did so forthwith to the tune of “Fergalicious.” Perhaps, taking that thought to heart a mite too much (about seven months later), “Richard Simmons literally salivatedover Kiran (and her feet) on that very memorable American Morning.

Chetrylicious still? If Kiran’s recent Twit pics are any indication (1,2), she certainly still definitely deserves that description. Nevertheless, Kiran’s fans may need much more proof–or, at least, assuredly want it!

AM: Kiran’s Bad Boy Back [Updated]

December 7, 2011

Sans wedding ring. Today, former American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry‘s hubby Chris Knowles appeared twice on the CNN morning news show today–without his connubial band and with nary a word of his beloved beauty.* Sitting in the very seat of his “wifey” in his first appearance on the AM divan (i.e., screen right of both AM  co-hosts Christine Romans and Carol Costello), Chris ably reported on an OWS protester who had crossed over to “the enemy” and procured a job with a Wall Street financial firm. However, the viewer could be forgiven if s/he were somewhat distracted during Chris’ story: As he conversed with Kiran’s former CNN colleagues, Chris made no mention of his lovely lady, AM‘s erstwhile Aphrodite, and his ring finger seemed brazenly bare.

Fogiveable forgetfulness or playful payback? If the latter, not nice, Chris. Remember, Kiran was just “kidding.”

*American Morning – 12/07/11 (@ 6:46 a.m. ET and 8:58 a.m. ET)

Update: Unfortunately, Chris “forgot” to wear his wedding band yet again the very next day (Thursday) in his two AM appearances.**  Still forgiveable? Only Nepal’s delectable devi can decide.

Ali Velshi: [I] Miss Kiran Chetry Every Morning

August 30, 2011

Yesterday American Morning co-host Ali Velshi pined for Kiran Chetry, his  gorgeous, exotic former AM co-host. After her hubby, meteorologist Chris Knowles, appeared anew on A.M.: Wake-Up Call for a weather segment, Ali Tweeted, “@chrisknowlestv nice to see you on our air. Miss @KiranChetryTV every morning.” And who could blame him?

After Kiran tearfully left AM for a mysterious “very special opportunity” on July 29, he has co-hosted the program with Christine Romans and Carol Costello. For the cosmopolitan Kenyan-born Canadian, his two former Iowa farm girls may seem a mite too plain and prosaic in comparison–especially, if the lovely ladies’ recent dress and mien are any indication. On one hand, Christine, overly cloaked in her high-collared tops and school marm midis, appears determined to play the earnest advocate: On the other, Carol, too oft in her Kyra Phillips slacks and/or Mary Jane shoes, seems to strive to be the studied cynic.

Unfortunately for Ali, AM‘s Aphrodite has left the the Time Warner Center: And, the sexy Nepalese beauty has not been replaced. Only Kiran’s personally dubbed “resident fashionistaAlina Cho may have come somewhat close. But, alas, Ali was gone that day.

Missing Kiran, Ali? So do your American Morning viewers!

Kiran Chetry: Miss Nepal USA 2011?

August 23, 2011

You be the judge! Three weeks after tearfully leaving American Morning for a “very special opportunity,” Kathmandu’s comely Kiran Chetry reemerged into the limelight as a judge of the Miss Nepal USA 2011 beauty pageant Saturday. As she proudly paid tribute to her homeland’s lovelies, Kiran further served up a sop to her fervent fans who impatiently await her next move.

Before judging the Miss Nepal USA 2011 contest Saturday, Kiran solicited queries from her Twitter followers for the pageant contestants. Then, she posted photos of the judges (including herself) and several apparent competitors. Finally, when Miss Nepal USA 2011 Sujita Basnet was crowned the winner, Kiran sent out a pic with her congratulations.

Yes, Miss Nepal USA was assuredly gorgeous: But, so was Nepal’s “Ray of Light.” Kiran was back for a mere moment and looked better than ever. But, when will Nepal’s real beauty queen finally return to her ardent acolytes?

Stay tuned.

CNN Countdown: @kiranchetrytv!

July 20, 2011

Get ready for blastoff, Kiran fans: her AM “end” is near! With exactly ten more days to go at CNN, American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry began the official countdown this morning from her Twitter megaphone. After posting a few Tweets today via her @kiranchetrycnn account, she suddenly morphed her handle into @kiranchetrytv without warning.

On her new Twitter page, Kiran still asked followers to “watch Kiran on CNN’s American Morning” but she had replaced her Web link to the American Morning blog with her own WeFollow page. Conversely, CNN’s American Morning blog site no longer listed Kiran’s Twitter address nor featured her as the AM anchor. (However, Kiran’s old Twitter address could still be seen in the “On Twitter” column which still included some of her Tweets.)

Nevertheless, dear reader, Kiran remains on CNN’s “Anchors & Reporters” roster: And, rightly so. In fact, Kiran’s AM (and CNN) tenure continues until July 29. Ergo, Kiran votaries, you have only one more week and two days to begin your day and brighten your morning with Nepal’s “Ray of Light.”

AM’s Aphrodite Leaves CNN

July 13, 2011

Kiran taking her Cestus back to Fox News? According to “Page 6” of the New York Post, American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry was seen cleaning out her desk today and has told her co-workers that she will leave CNN at the end of the month. The NYP added that Kiran’s current co-hosts Christine Romans and Ali Velshi will continue on at AM on an interim basis.

Furthermore, Mediaite confirmed the NYP account and added that it had obtained Kiran’s memo to her “American Morning Family.” In that note, Kiran revealed that July 29th will be her final day behind the AM desk and at CNN itself. Then, after thanking her bosses for the opportunity and her colleagues for the memories, Kiran enigmatically concluded, “This isn’t goodbye… this is see you soon.”

Kiran back to where she once belonged? Perhaps, Fox News Senior VP of Programming Bill Shine is really shaking up the FNC daytime. Her Fox & Friends fans can only hope so.

Update: Kiran subtly alerted her Twitter followers early Thursday morning to her imminent departure from AM by reTweeting a Piers Morgan missive. She RT’d, “Thx! I’ll b watching u!RT @piersmorgan: Very sad to see @kiranchetrycnn go – great lady, terrific presenter. My mornings won’t be the same.”

Kiran Parties Hard in London

April 28, 2011

Chetry: “Last standing.” With her hubby and kids safely ensconced across the Pond in Larchmont (NY), American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry showed her  male colleagues in London that she’s no dull girl. After CNN’s hard-working royal wedding anchor told a Twitter follower Monday that she had not tried the pubs yet, Kiran remedied that in no short measure the very next day. According to “Page Six” of the New York Post, AM‘s Aphrodite joined her colleagues, CNN’s Piers Morgan, ABC’s Chris Cuomo, and ABC’s News Prez Ben Sherwood Tuesday night at Morgan’s London pub, Hansom Cab. Reportedly, the Nepalese beauty not only “threw back quite a few drinks” with the boys but also “was the last anchor standing” when the party ended at 11 p.m.

Whether Kiran was seen “last standing”–or, perhaps, dancing–atop a Hansom Cab table is not now known. However, if CNN chief Ken Jautz wants real ratings for AM, stills and footage will soon follow.

Calling all iReporters! Kiran?

Update: Morgan Tweets photo of Kiran in her Royal Wedding “sexy wellies.”

“MIA” Kiran: “Two Days!”

February 24, 2011

Mediaite.com’s Christopher: Two Stories! Did American Morning‘s Valentine, co-host Kiran Chetry, make Mediaite columnist Tommy Christopher go weak in the knees–or, perhaps, mushy in the mind? During this month of Amor, Christopher has penned two articles on Kiran and her  “unusually devoted fan base” (“who had a little panic attack” when she took an unannounced five-day vacation in the Dominican Republic barely a month after her former co-anchor John Roberts was axed on Christmas Eve). Even though Christopher got his conclusion right about Kiran, unfortunately, he got the facts wrong about her and her fans–twice.

In his first column (February 1), “Fans of CNN’s Kiran Chetry Rejoice! She Will Be Back on the Air Wednesday Morning (February 2),” Christopher rightly declared that the “real story…is [Kiran’s] dedicated fans.” However, he erroneously elaborated that they were so worried about Kiran after her “two-day absence” from American Morning that they spiked traffic to a “four-month-old post” so high that it hit the number 5 position on Mediaite in a “very unusual occurrence.” [Underscoring added for emphasis.] In awe, Christopher marveled, “Such grassroots fandom is the stuff that superstars are made of.”

In his followup piece, entitled “CNN’s Kiran Chetry Talks American Morning, John Roberts, and Journalism with Mediaite,” Christopher interviewed Kiran about the reaction of her “unusually devoted fan base” to her absence. Perhaps, hedging on her time away, he began, “Your fans, you took a few days off and your fans”: Before he could finish, Chetry inexplicably and incorrectly interjected, “Two days!” Echoing her error, Christopher continued, “Two days and your fans got all worried about you. How did that make you feel?…I’ve never seen that before.” Kiran answered that “it was very flattering that people wondered where I was” and that part of the interest probably pertained to John Robert’s recent low-key departure from AM.

As Kiran seemed to suggest, her American Morning fans probably did wonder where she was and were concerned that she may have been canned like Roberts as she frolicked in the Dominican Republic with her hubby Chris Knowles. Also, undoubtedly, Christopher was correct that Kiran has “super-devoted fans” who may “have had a little panic attack when she took…off.” However, they did not have that “little panic attack” Tuesday after Kiran had been off for only the second day in a row as Christopher claimed: rather, they grew concerned after she had been gone for five straight days. (Apparently, Christopher, did not realize that Kiran had also been off the Friday beforehand.)

Nevertheless, Christopher can not necessarily be blamed for being a bit discombobulated by the allure of AM‘s Aphrodite. Others, including Kiran’s former AM co-anchor John Roberts (twice), her current interim co-host T. J. Holmes, and her guest Richard Simmons have swooned in her presence. In fact, even the author from afar.

[Author’s aside: Kiran was off January 28-February 1. Kate Bouldan substituted for Kiran on January 28 (Friday); January 31 (Monday) and February 1 (Tuesday).]

Kiran: “Living the Teenage Dream” With TJ

January 20, 2011

T. J.: “What are you trying to say?” Rowrrr! American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry took her onscreen flirting with interim co-anchor T. J. Holmes to a whole new level on AM this morning. When the show returned from commercial break for its final ten minutes to the lilt of “Teenage Dream,” Katy Perry was heard singing “You and I will be young forever: you make me feel like I’m living a teenage dream the way you turn me on.”* As if on cue, Kiran coquettishly commented, “Katy Perry, you gotta love her: Um, I’m living the teenage dream today sitting here by T.J.”

Uncertain of her meaning, T.J. queried, “You [sic] saying I’m young? What are you trying to say?” Laughing, Kiran answered, “I don’t know. You got to listen to the lyrics to find out.” Chuckling, T. J. concurred, “Okay.”

Later, if recently wed T. J. finally does indeed listen to those lyrics, he may well get more than a little flushed (as he remembers Kiran’s siren tease this morning). Yes, Perry’s pop hit does open rather  innocently, viz., “You think I’m pretty without any make-up on; You think I’m funny when I tell the punch line wrong.” However, Perry’s paean to youthful passion does get steamier with passages such as “I’m a [sic] get your heart racing in my skin-tight jeans; be your teenage dream tonight.” Not to mention, the dirty ditty culminates with the comely chanteuse’s carnal call,” viz., “Let’s go all the way tonight; no regrets, just love; we can dance until we die; you and I, we’ll be young forever.”

Doubtlessly, Kiran’s colorful exchange with T. J. was probably little more than playful, bawdy banter between colleagues–albeit AM‘s Nepalese Aphrodite and CNN’s ebony Adonis. Nevertheless, even if Kiran’s hubby of ten years does not mind the on-camera coquetting, T.J.’s new bride may be less understanding. I.e., if T.J. is not careful, his “‘interim’ period” at AM may be shorter than he had hoped.

Morning in America Again? Almost.

December 16, 2010

Graphics and gams: Rise and shine! A new day is dawning on American Morning as CNN’s “Ray of Light,” Kiran Chetry, shines ever brighter. Yesterday new CNN chief Ken Jautz formally announced a new and improved AM with a “more upbeat and faster-paced” format and less of its old personnel, i.e., co-anchor John Roberts and EP Jamie Kraft.

On November 23, Jautz began his much needed transformation of AM by creating a spanking-new set with not only sunny graphics that awakened the AM audience but also a very sexy see-through desk that further aroused the male admirers of Kiran (a la Megyn Kelly’s America Live one). Unfortunately, these improvements of Jautz in part seem short lived: Seemingly, some priggish and prudish producer embraced anew the CNN castrato ethos only  two days later. I.e., the foolish philistine eunuch veiled Kiran’s lovely legs with apparently a reflective coating on the glass table that would have made John Ashcroft proud.

Unfortunately, for now, Jautz’s American Morning is a much more muted and bowdlerized version of FNC’s Fox & Friends. However, Jautz is promising to elevate the status of his anemic cable morning news show: Jautz asserts that he is transforming AM “to make it better suited to the morning” by rendering it “more upbeat and faster paced.” Beyond the format changes, Jautz states that he wanted to “make sure we have the right ‘American Morning family,’ as it were and we will be looking at different people [including T.J. Holmes] alongside Kiran on a rotating basis.”

A promising start. Happily, Jautz, unlike some of his colleagues, finally seems to realize that there may well be a desirable demographic beyond the Upper East Side effete elite. Here’s to a real American Morning soon!

Kiran: Bringing Bootylicious Back

November 17, 2010

Giddy up! American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry was back in the U.S. cavalry saddle Tuesday inspiring the wounded soldiers on as CNN’s anchor version of Betty Grable. After ruing that she was not able to boost the morale of those proud warriors at Walter Reed Hospital Monday night (because her press escort was a no-show), Kiran returned to AM with her killer black knee-high, stiletto-heeled boots and a sexy ebony mini to do just that. And did she succeed!

In fact, after “Morning Talkers” segment with Kiran’s gorgeous gams on full display,  AM co-host John Roberts seemed stirred.* In that subsequent story, entitled “Having the Winning ‘Touch’: Study: Fist bumps, butt slaps = success,” correspondent Carol Costello reported that that strategy did not “really work in the office because if you fist bump or chest bump your fellow workers in the office, they kind of think you’re invading their personal space.”** In response, John, beaming broadly and putting his hands up defensively, guffawed, “If you pat a co-worker on the butt, that’s not good either!” As Carol laughed animatedly, Kiran looked downed at the desk and simply shook her head.

Then, as Kiran began to introduce the headline stories, John (showing his palms again as if “clean”) interrupted, “Not that I’ve tried!” Turning to John and winking, Kiran replied, “No. Of course not.” Apparently, hoping to clear him of any suspicion, Kiran added, “We just, we’re assuming: we’re just making an inference there.” Rolling his eyes, John nodded and chuckled. [Of course, he could have thinking of CNN colleague and fiancee Kyra Phillips.]

But, as for Kiran: Bootylicious? Chetrylicious!

Kiran: No “Pumpkin Peeking” Today

August 18, 2010

But, still delicious? With guest co-host T.J. Holmes back in the American Morning house today, co-anchor Kiran Chetry apparently tried to make sure that he was not again too distracted by her beautiful bronzed orbs. As loyal AM viewers may remember, during the spring of last year when Kiran and T.J. hosted AM together, one of the buttons on Kiran’s blouse became unclasped and T.J., seemingly, could not help stealing a glance: shortly thereafter, Kiran (or, perhaps, a producer) pinned it up to veil the view of her pleasing pumpkins for the rest of the show. Today, wearing a not too dissimilar buttoned red blouse, Kiran, apparently, preemptively put a black top underneath to preclude such an occurrence.

However, T.J. should not feel too bad. Only a few weeks ago, Kiran, apparently, did the same to “help” her regular co-host John Roberts keep his eyes from roving: recently, when wearing a short, sleeveless black dress with a plunging neckline, Kiran donned a red top underneath to cloak her chest. As Kiran may have well remembered, that very dress was the one that had John Roberts’ seemingly doing a sequel to his original “Pumpkin Peeking.”

Nevertheless, all was not lost for T.J. or the AM audience as to the aesthetic appreciation of the Nepalese Aphrodite. In contrast with her matronly layered top, Kiran wore a short, sexy mini showcasing her gorgeous gams. Coy, but Chetrylicious!

[Aside: To paraphrase Fergie, “Chetrylicious definition make them AM boys go loco.”]

Kiran “Croft” Chetry

July 7, 2010

The Internet photo that she does not want you to see! Today, American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry alluded to a picture that her AM audience may not be familiar with but that her former Fox & Friends Weekend viewers know quite well.

During an AM segment on the Internet’s effect on one’s reputation today with Kiran and co-anchor John Roberts, CNN biz babe Christine Romans reported that 79% of employer “recruiters check online the information that is available about you.”* Sounding a mite too familiar with that fact, Kiran replied, “And, this has made a whole new business out there. Have you ever heard of the Reputation Defender and other ways that you can clean up your reputation online?…They’ll move articles down and expunge certain pictures. I mean, it’s really interesting.”

Turning to Christine, John elaborated, “But, if you Google your name, things come up in a certain order. Reputation Defender will take the ones that  you don’t like and move them down to the bottom.” Rolling her eyes and shaking her head, Kiran coquettishly interjected, “Like your Halloween costume from like 2000. Just stuff like that.” Chuckling, Christine impishly queried, “For example?” Cocking his head, a smiling John teased, “Do tell.” Looking down and grinning broadly, Kiran coyly replied, “You know.”

Reader, if you do not know, link here to see Kiran in her sexy Lara Croft costume. If you don’t, you may not be able to find it on Google soon. Happy Halloween in July!

Kiran: Me So Horny

June 17, 2010

Kiran: from Nepal’s “ray of light” to U.S.’s way of delight? American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry heated things up this morning with her horn blowing. In fact, after her lusty rendition, FIFA may never ban South Africa’s celebrated vuvuzela from the World Cup (regardless of how crazy the plastic “mad-hornet” trumpets drive the uninitiated ear).

In an AM report on FIFA’s decision not to prohibit the vuvuzela from the Johannesburg World Cup, CNN correspondent Richard Roth ineptly tried to master the “art” of blowing the cacophonous instrument. When his story had run, an in-studio Richard handed the vuvuzela to Kiran and remarked, “If you’d like to try, Kiran.”* After asking for some hand sanitizer first from Roth and not getting any, Kiran bravely replied, “Alright, they’re yelling in my ear, ‘Blow on it. If I get sick!”

After Kiran gamely blew the vuvuzela, Roth declared, “That is very good for the first time because one of the women at the restaurant said she had to take lessons and you could say I was pretty weak.” In response, Kiran exclaimed, “Lessons?!” Then, she suddenly seized the horn anew and zestfully blew a playful rift.” Grinning goatishly at Kiran, Roth queried, “Why are you so good at that?”

As the floor crew erupted in laughter and her co-host Drew Griffin beamed broadly, Kiran ignored Roth’s racy question, laid her trumpet on the desk, and glanced at Drew. As Drew chuckled and avoided her gaze, Kiran rolled her eyes and hid the trumpet behind her chair. Feigning offense, Kiran “icily” commented, “Always a pleasure to have Richard Roth with us. Thank you, Richard.”

CNN/US prez Jonathan Klein is right. Kiran definitely “light[s] up the screen” and “brings a delight” to American Morning and to its audience. Kiran, you lived up to your name today!

American Morning – 06/17/10 @7:57 a.m. ET)

Kiran: Jump on It! [Updated]

June 7, 2010

“Oops, I Did It Again!” was the message that American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry sent her Twitter followers this morning. To be exact, she Tweeted, “If you see something on my leg this AM, it’s an aircast. I sprained my ankle pretty badly jumping on a trampoline!” As her Twitter followers may remember, Kiran likewise injured herself (albeit her neck then) last year on a trampoline (Moonbounce) as she showed off for her daughter Maya’s friends at a birthday party with an ill-fated flip.

Strangely, Kiran, co-anchor John Roberts, and AM producer Jamie Kraft made no mention of Kiran’s sprained ankle during the show today. In fact, the cameraperson seemed intent on concealing it: e.g., in Kiran’s standing shots, she was shown from basically the knee up. However, on occasion, her cast could be barely seen from a distance when AM returned from commercial break as the camera panned the studio.

Conversely, could one imagine its juggernaut competitor, Fox & Friends, missing such an opportunity to connect personally with its audience and showcase its co-host? Surely, its hosts, especially, Brian Kilmeade, would have given Kiran all kinds of grief as to how she was injured as their cameraperson took more than a few lingering shots of her gorgeous gams. However, AM executive producer Jamie Kraft seems to have taken the mayo tack to news–all too distinct from the spicier salsa approach that his predecessor Janelle Rodriguez had preferred.

Second-chance suggestion: Jamie, let JD pick a few songs to showcase Kiran’s injury on the trampoline, e.g., Sir Mix-A-Lot’s “Jump on It,” Pointer Sisters’ “Jump (For My Love),” or Van Halen’s “Jump”. Or, maybe even include the Van Halen vid itself, too, in which lead singer David Lee Roth bears a resemblance to John in his MuchTV veejay days: a twofer! At the very least, have John and Kiran do another “What’s Under the Desk” segment.

Jamie, “Jump on It”!

Update: According to Mediabistro.com, Kiran is supposed to have her ankle in an aircast for 4-6 weeks but she hopes to have it off sooner, i.e., the Friday before the 2010 Daytime Emmys (June 27, 2010). (Kiran’s seemingly self-shot close-up of her ankle is included in the Mediabistro.com article.)

Kiran’s Cleavage: Aftershocks

April 28, 2010

Today American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry seemed to have had an overnight conversion. Yesterday, she coyly “dismissed the power of her ‘pumpkins‘” after a Jeanne Moos’ report entitled “Busting ‘Boobquake’ Theory” (about a Purdue student and her friends’ attempt to debunk an Iranian cleric’s theory that immodest women cause earthquakes by wearing their bosom-baring tops). To her co-anchor John Roberts, she riantly remarked, “Just stick with me, John, [and] you’ll be in no danger of running into an earthquake.” However, this morning Kiran appeared to recant her earlier view and to embrace both her distaff potency and the cleric’s “wisdom.”

Ironically, Kiran chose to wear today the very dress that had led John not only to peek at her pumpkins but also to eye her stems as well last autumn (September 9, 2009). However, she apparently tried to tamp down any tremors that John or her AM admirers would experience due to her distaff potency. Whereas then she proudly donned her short, sleeveless black dress with a plunging neckline for John and the AM viewer to enjoy, today she took a much more prim approach. I.e., she cloaked herself with a white top underneath that black dress to cover her decolletage fully and she studiously kept her bare legs underneath the AM desk for the entirety of the show. (John was conscripted to do floor duty alone.) To boot, Kiran adorned herself with no jewelry at all except the engagement and wedding rings that her husband had bestowed upon her to make her his wife.

Girl power under wraps today!

Kiran’s Cleavage: Boobquake?

April 27, 2010

American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry coquettishly dismissed the power of her “pumpkins” today to the amusement of her co-anchor John Roberts. In the final block of the first hour of AM, Kiran introduced a Jeanne Moos story cleverly entitled “Busting ‘Boobquake’ Theory” about a Purdue student’s effort to debunk an Iranian cleric’s claim that immodestly attired women precipitated earthquakes. In the report, Moos humorously covered Jen McCreight and her friends’ attempt to test the strange theory by wearing their most revealing tops Monday. Moos even asked McCreight about the “magnitude of [her] cleavage.”

After playfully opening her own blouse a bit to the merriment of McCreight and her gal pals, Moos concluded her segment, saying “Just to be safe, beware what you wear!”* As Kiran caught the toss, she self-deprecatingly jested, “There you go. Just stick with me, John, [and] you’ll be in no danger of running into an earthquake. I can’t say the same for everyone else.” After she and John both shared a hearty laugh, John replied, “Sounds like a great idea.”

And, John would know. In fact, so would AM guest host T.J. Holmes. Kiran may not have produced an earthquake yet but she certainly has given her CNN colleagues and AM admirers, at least, a few tremors.

Kiran: Shaken & Stirred

April 22, 2010

Chetry: Craig Crazy. American Morning’s Aphrodite Kiran Chetry may enjoy getting her male acolytes all hot and bothered on occasion but yesterday it was Kiran who became the flustered votary of her Adonis. When AM returned almost mid-show to the theme of James Bond, Kiran drew “her gun” like an Angel (Charlie’s)  before reading the headlines. She began, “Welcome back! I guess you can guess what we’re talking about this morning.”*

Then, as producers ran the footage of Craig rising from the surf in his bathing scivvies in Casino Royale, Kiran continued, “007 may have a hard time surviving his latest adventure. The twenty-third James Bond film has been postponed indef [ending mid-word]. Appearing suddenly to be overcome by the vapors, Kiran exclaimed, “Hold on, I can’t speak!” Abashedly, she laughed, “Lord have mercy! Sorry!”

After regaining her composure and finishing the story, her co-anchor John Roberts nonchalantly queried, “So, who was the best Bond?” John proclaimed that it was Sean Connery. Not swayed in the least, Kiran defiantly declared, “I picked Daniel Craig. I’m sorry. It was that scene we showed.”

Agreeably, John replied, “I also like Daniel Craig: I think he’s a very good Bond. I really do.” Raising her eyes lustily, Kiran enthusiastically concurred, “Me, too!” Realizing that he might want to distinguish his comments, John replied, “I like him for different reasons than you do.”

Turning to John, Kiran riantly responded, “Next time we’ll do your favorite Bond girls. How about that? We’ll keep it fair.” Gallantly, John answered, “Nah! I got one girl [Kyra Phillips] that’s my favorite.” Kiran simply laughed.

Kiran: the next bodacious Bond girl? Don’t laugh. She certainly made a luscious Lara Croft!

Kiran’s Feet: AM’s Eye Candy?

April 9, 2010

American Morning co-host Kiran Chetry teased her foot fanciers today after producers gave viewers a quick peek underneath her AM desk. When the third hour B block began to the tune of “I Want Candy,” a panning cameraman caught Kiran with her bare feet atop her chair’s legs. As he went in for a close-up “two shot” of Kiran and guest host Jim Acosta, Kiran knowingly giggled and Jim exclaimed, “There they are! There they are!”*

Then, as a smiling Kiran turned her twinkling eyes upon him, a beaming Jim flirtatiously continued, “We won’t talk about that. I think that was Kiran’s feet but we want go there.” Ducking her head and lowering her eyes, Kiran coyly commented, “And two pairs of shoes under the desk. But you know what? We’re not talking about that!”

Don’t worry, Jim: you’re not the only one who has noticed Kiran’s feet. Regular co-anchor John Roberts has as well (as Jay Leno humorously noted). Not to mention fitness guru Richard Simmons who literally salivated over them.

Chetrylicious!
