E.D.: Fox No More

E.D. Hill, former FNC fox and author of “I’m Not Your Friend, I’m Your Parent,” announced today that she left Fox News one week ago. In a book interview on Today’s Issues (an American Family Radio program), the erstwhile co-host of Fox & Friends and anchor of Fox News Live and America’s Pulse further revealed that she has resumed her masters degree pursuit. The brassy Texas beauty exhibited no ill will toward her former employer even though her contract was not renewed (after she, seemingly, fell from FNC Programming SVP Bill Shine’s grace after her infamous Barack/Michelle “terrorist fist bump” quip).

E.D. Out: Over FNC’s Hill

After over a decade on Fox News, E.D. Hill was shown the door by Bill Shine, FNC’s Senior Vice President of Programming according to TVNewser: E.D. is scheduled to depart in a few months as her contractual term ends. The attractive, opinionated towhead had a highly successful seven-year stint as co-host of FNC’s morning news show, Fox & Friends. Further, she served as anchor of America’s Pulse and guest host of the O’Reilly Factor.

However, E.D. recently has had a rough road of late. First, on September, 22, 2006, with little apparent warning, FNC celebrated its 10th anniversary by replacing her with a younger blonde, namely,  Gretchen Carlson, a former Miss America. E.D. was moved to a later FNC morning news program for a short time before she found a home at FNC’s America’s Pulse in the afternoon. There she made her infamous “terrorist fist jab” gaffe and found her show canned ten days later.

The resilient, brassy Texan beauty will no doubt land on her feet. Maybe, she could join her fellow flaxen-tressed FNC exiles, Page Hopkins and Laurie Dhue, in an edgy morning news show or, perhaps, an all-blonde Red Eye for the Straight Guy.

E.D. Again: Relates 2 “Nut Cut” Comment

Bill O’Reilly guest host, E.D. Hill, continued to push the Obama offense envelope last night. The former co-host of America’s Pulse, who lost her show shortly after asking if the Barack/Michelle Obama knuckle knock was a “terrorist fist jab,” told Geraldo Rivera that she could relate to Jesse Jackson’s “nut cut” comment. Geraldo responded, “What do you mean?” E.D. jested, “I’ve been through a divorce” and clarified that she didn’t mean it in a racial way after an Geraldo prompt. Part of the Texas beauty’s allure is her brash and blunt nature: however, one would expect her to try to be a mite more circumspect in her ad libs after her initial Barack blunder.

E.D.’s Barack Knock

Erstwhile Fox & Friends co-host and current America’s Pulse anchor E.D. Hill gave FNC cover to ax her. According to the Huffington Post, in reference to the knuckle knock of Barack and Michelle Obama, E.D. asked if it were a “terrorist fist jab.” Today the beautiful blonde Texan ate crow and apologized on America’s Pulse. According to TVNewser, her show has been canned to extend Martha MacCallum’s show The Live Desk for another hour.

Was E.D.’s Barack knock answered? She appears to be out of a show and with FNC in an unspecified capacity. Look for her in the shadows with Page Hopkins.

Page Surfaces Anew

The ever elusive Page Hopkins reappeared today from the Breaking News desk on FNC’s Happening Now co-hosted by Jane Skinner and Jon Scott. She reported on the just-released suicide notes of Debra Jean Palfrey a/k/a D.C. Madam found at her bedside. (Palfrey apologized to her mom and sis and said that she could not bear going to prison and leaving it “broken, penniless, and very much alone: Palfrey added that her prosecution was “a case of modern day lynching.”) Hopkins later also reported on Laura Bush’s upcoming announcement on relief efforts in Myanmar (erstwhile known as Burma) after losing approximately 4000 of its citizens in a cyclone. Further, she narrated a story on a Los Angeles office building fire on America’s Pulse With E.D. Hill.

Hopefully, Hopkins’ emergence from her Siberian stay is a sign that she is back in the good graces of Fox News. Perhaps, she will be allowed to audition for her old center seat on Fox & Friends Weekend. She’s surely needed to help ballast that listing ship.
