Alisyn Camerota: Departure “Bittersweet”

March 11, 2014

Staying classy. “Mother of God!,” exclaimed Judge Andrew Napolitano as he revealed beloved long-time FNC anchor Alisyn Camerota‘s imminent departure from the network to her America’s News HQ viewers today. Even though Aly had not yet announced her adieu to her audience, the Judge let them in on her “secret” at the end of his segment this afternoon.*

When the Judge finished his America’s News HQ analysis (on passenger rights on an ill-fated cruise), Aly remarked, “Judge, great to see you”: Grabbing her hand forthwith and kissing it affectionately, he animatedly remarked, “Pleasure. Aly, all the best to you! Is this the last time I’ll be on with you? Mother of God!” Not quite acknowledging his disclosure, she jested, “I doubt it! I sense [that] you’ll be at my house a lot!”

But, the erstwhile three-time queen of Fox & Friends Weekend was more forth coming to her Twitter followers earlier in the day. In a obvious nod to her fans who had Tweeted or otherwise expressed their love for her and her work after learning of her leaving Fox News, Aly Tweeted, “Wowee! Thanks for all the beautiful tweets and well wishes. It’s great to feel the impact of the work I’ve done. #bittersweet.”

Bittersweet indeed. According to the TVNewser’s scoop, Aly is expected to leave the building later this month. Encore, Aly!

Aly & Bill: “In the Closet”?

December 4, 2013

Camerota seems ready to get out of it with Ms. “Money.” For three days straight,  America’s News HQ co-hosts Alisyn Camerota and Bill Hemmer have appeared in their “new studio,” an apparent homage to a bourgeois master bedchamber closet. Instead of heralding from their usual capacious, plush high-tech studio with multiple sets, they are doing so from a small Spartan one that simply features two chairs and a desk. To make matters worse, poor Aly and Bill seem so crowded in their new quarters that they can barely read their papers without the camera itself physically intruding into their personal space.

In her first show in her new digs Monday, Aly appeared to inadvertently disclose that she was less than thrilled with the change. Before interviewing Money (FBN) anchor Melissa Francis who appeared on screen (from the FBN studio), Aly chuckled, “We’re in a new studio! And, you’re still money!”* Laughing, ANHQ co-host Bill Hemmer concurred, “And, you’re still money, all the way from here.”

At least, Bill still has a nice studio on America’s Newsroom with Martha MacCallum. But, Aly does not: She has more than paid her dues on Fox News as her Fox & Friends Weekend fans will attest. It’s time for FNC to treat Aly with the respect that she has earned.

Camerota: “It’s Going Too Quickly”

October 1, 2013

Aly: “Ha! Leave ’em wanting more.” Yesterday, Fox & Friends Weekend queen of the curvy couch Alisyn Camerota made her move yesterday to a new throne on America’s News HQ next to the “thieving” Bill Hemmer. Apparently, producers realized that Aly’s Fox & Friends Weekend fans were not necessarily overly amused with the loss of their beloved beauty: Thus, they opened the new ANHQ with a humorous show-starting skit a la Saturday Night Live (of lovely Aly with a huge curler in her hair being served a bagel by an obsequious Bill before they both frantically realized that they were running late for their premiere program).

Continuing the meme mid-show, Bill asked, “How you doing? You alright?” Smiling knowingly, Aly answered, “Doing well. It’s going too quickly!” Grinning  back almost impishly, Bill replied, “Is it?” Beaming beautifully, Aly responded, “Yes, stretch it out a little more, Bill. Slow it down! Too fast for me!”

Too fast for Aly’s F&FW fans, too–by three hours! When the author suggested as much to Aly, she aptly Tweeted, “Ha! Leave ’em wanting more.”

And, indeed she does!

Shannon Bream: Liberty Belle & Trump Beauty?

September 16, 2012

America’s News Headquarters anchor Shannon Bream: no small fry! The beautiful blond legal eagle that graduated from Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell’s Liberty College oft appears too demure, too modest, and too soft-spoken for FNC’s foxy fold of sassy, sexy, and brassy news babes. Her Fox News fans would not be shocked that the Florida native, who had interned in college on the Hill for Rep. Bill McCollum (R-FL), subsequently got her J.D. cum laude at Florida State University, became a corporate lawyer, and got the journalist bug that eventually led her to Fox News (a la FNC colleague Megyn Kelly). But, they might be quite surprised that their “conservative” cutie, the former Miss Shannon DePuy, in the interim, was furthermore not only a 1991 Top 10 Miss America finalist (Miss Virginia) but also a 1995 Top 12 Miss USA semi-finalist (Miss Florida).

Yes, the Southern belle has the brains to cover the Supreme Court beat. But, she also has the looks to sashay on the catwalk with the best of them–be they Bert Parks’ classic beauties (1991 Miss America Top 10 vid) or Donald Trump‘s chic chicks (Top 12 and swimsuit vids).

Bream: served to order!

Maria Molina Goes Bust

July 26, 2011

Wrap her up? Clad in her cleavage-clinging gorgeous green dress, Fox & Friends Weekend guest meteorologist Maria Molina caught the appreciative eye of many a new admirer Sunday. Perhaps, emboldened by guest co-host Juliet Huddy who proudly exhibited her own ample charms, the timid temptress, who showed scant skin as usual, seemed to seize a new confidence as she bravely displayed her fine form in a waist-hugging and bosom-embracing daring dress. And, her F&FW viewers appeared to take special note of the new Maria–if Carpe Diem readers are any indicium.

As Maria flaunted her fab figure for her F&FW fans, Carpe Diem searches for “Maria Molina” skyrocketed and views of “Maria Molina: Bye!” hit a record high. Although most readers modestly searched for Maria simply by name, more randy ones exhibited a special interest in her cleavage. Even when F&FW had ended and Maria changed into a more demure fuschia dress in her later appearances on America’s News Headquarters, her new admirers continued their quest to know the Nicaraguan beauty better.

Apparently, for her F&FW fans, when Maria goes bust, she really goes boom.

FNC HD: Hostile Dastards?

December 21, 2008

Is FNC thwarting its viewers’ ability to skip ads and boring segments? Even though the author was able to fast forward through FNC HD programs, e.g., Fox & Friends and America’s News Headquarters, via the DirectTV DVR yesterday and today, he was unable to see the skipped material. I.e., when the “FF” button was pushed, the pic froze and the program began when “Play” was tapped: the intervening video was not displayed. The author has had no comparable problems with CNN HD.

If my personal anecdote is applicable to the new FNC HD experience of all its viewers (or even just its DirecTV ones), this viewer impediment does not bode well for the self-proclaimed “Fair and Balanced” network. It seems like an Orwellian machination not well suited to those who claim to hold high the principles of the Fourth Estate.

Rupert, Roger, are you hamstringing your viewers?

Biden’s Bite: Puppy Pick Message?

December 14, 2008

Vice President-elect Joe Biden appeared to send a subliminal message to Obama bashers: smiling, kissing Joe still has his bark and his bite. Picking a purebred German shepherd pup for himself before Barack Obama gets his children’s canine, seemed a subtle reminder that no matter how cuddly and gentle Obama may be, that Biting Biden will be on guard.

Opining on Biden’s buy, Fox & Friends co-hosts Aly, Dave, and Clayton seemed to agree that it was a bid to get back in the public eye. Ironically, in the next show, America’s News HQ, FNC displayed a similarly colored German shepherd watching over JFK, Jackie, Little John, and Caroline apparently at the Kennedy compound. The author began to wonder if Biden’s selection was a part of a larger play: remember, the Obama team has patterned itself after Reagan’s resonance, Kennedy’s Camelot, and Clinton’s politics.

In the new Obama administration, Biden will play a role. He may agree to a shrinking Veep script but he’ll be no shrinking violet.
