Martha MacCallum: Mrs. or Ms.?

March 28, 2012

“Miss”ing her marital band. This morning, America’s Newsroom co-host Martha MacCallum did not don her wedding ring as usual. Initially, Martha seemed to deftly hide her left hand with her right one. However, on a few occasions, Martha did reveal her naked ring finger clearly.*

Perhaps, the blond beauty married to Gregory Packaging, Inc. VP Daniel John Gregory for almost ten years simply forgot her connubial symbol today, or, perchance, it was being cleaned. In fact, Martha did not appear ready to attract too much attention from any new male admirer. Rather, Martha donned her more demure apparel, sporting a short-sleeved, crew-necked, and long-hemmed fir green dress.

Incidentally or not, Martha was profiled by (201) Magazine in an article entitled “Holiday Look: Martha MacCallum and her family get dressed up to celebrated” on December 9, 2011, that seemingly featured her herself and her three children but not her hubby. Her man Daniel was mentioned but he did not appear in any of the seven pics that accompanied Martha’s profile. However, Martha was wearing her wedding ring in the photos.

Martha: Mrs. or Ms.? Stay tuned.

Maria Molina Naked

January 23, 2012

Again–in earrings. A sexy shout-out to her boys? Fox News meteorologist Maria Molina brought the heat anew to her winter weather report this morning on America’s Newsroom with her obvious brains, beauty, and allure. Adorned simply in silver earrings (jewelry-wise), Maria was not necessarily auditioning for NakedNews.com (NSFW) but the Nicaraguan nymph certainly seemed to be telegraphing to her male admirers that she just might be available.

Naked? Not exactly: she did have her earrings on. Unfortunately, for her, perhaps, overly avid votaries, the long-tressed brunette beauty also had on additional adornment, i.e., a long-sleeved royal blue jacket and matching low top (yet without a hint of decolletage) and a long high-waisted form-fitting black skirt. But, as usual, she sported no necklace, no bracelets, and NO rings.

Hint, hint: Take a gander, guys? Comely Maria Molina: FNC’s “naked” nymph!

Carl Cameron: “F***ing Cold”?

January 2, 2012

“I almost cussed for it.” FNC chief political correspondent Carl Cameron barely caught himself on America’s Newsroom this morning. Standing outside in frigid Des Moines, Iowa, as he reported on the GOP Presidential candidates’ “final push,” a freezing Cameron sported a brown overcoat with an up-turned collar, black gloves, and black earmuffs. After he had given his report, AN co-host Martha MacCallum smilingly teased, “Carl, fascinating stuff. And, when the earmuffs come out, we know that Carl’s in Iowa. Right, Carl?”*

Chuckling to himself and looking back momentarily as if to restrain himself, a pink-faced Carl replied, “And it’s–[appearing to begin to produce the “ph” sound with his lips and teeth and then suddenly stopping]–and it’s cold.” Grinning, Carl stammered, “I almost, I almost cussed for it. It’s cold.”

Laughing, Martha echoed, “It’s cold!”

Or, almost “f***ing cold,” Carl?

Banderas: Half-Naked…Promiscuous Big Bird

October 31, 2011

Patti Ann Browne: We’d like to see photos, Julie! FNC correspondent Julie Banderas bawdily spiced up her America’s Newsroom Halloween report this morning. After her story on a study showing Americans spending approximately $7 billion this year and more adults using the holiday as an escape, she saucily commented, “Patti Ann…the survey did not cover why it is [that] this is the time of year women decide to go out half-naked.”*

As a smiling AM guest co-host PAB reddened and an animated AM co-anchor Bill Hemmer chortled in the background, Julie added, “I mean, you do realize…if you look at look at women’s costumes online–I was looking at Elmo’s costumes [for daughter Addison Melissa]–I’m dressing up as Big Bird. A promiscuous Big Bird costume is all I could find.”

“Really?” an instantly intrigued PAB asked. “I’m not kidding!” Julie answered. Chuckling, Patti Ann spicily replied, “I didn’t know there was such a thing. But, we’d like to see photos, Julie!” Nodding, a grinning Julie responded, “No, it’s scary. I will show you.”

As PAB beamed and Bill began to randily reply, “That’s the,”, a suddenly demure Julie put up her hands and unconvincingly insisted, “No, I’m covering up: I’m not going to be one of the promiscuous Big Birds.”

Chuckling, Bill responded, “Banderas, that’s the funniest thing you’ve ever said.” As a somewhat chagrined Julie giggled, Bill concluded, “Really! Well played. See you later.” Succinctly, a smiling Juliet concurred, “Yeah!”

Halloween on Sesame Street: Banderas–a better bird.

*America’s Newsroom – 10/31/11 (@ 10:37 a.m. ET)

Update: When a Twitter follower asked if Julie’s hubby Andrew Sansone would go as Mr. Snufolupogus since she had said that she was going as Big Bird and Addison as Elmo, Julie teased, “It’ll b [sic] a surprise. I’ll post pics later!”

Martha’s Slip Shows: Roger’s High “Five”

October 3, 2011

MacCallum right: The Five, Shine’s summer show permanent. Today, Fox News Chairman and CEO Roger Ailes confirmed what America’s Newsroom co-anchor Martha MacCallum let slip six days ago as reported by Carpe Diem: I.e., Fox News viewers will “be watching [co-hosts Andrea Tantaros and Bob Beckel] over the course of a year on The Five.” According to Fox News Insider, Ailes announced that “The Five has been picked up as a scheduled program for [FNC’s] 5 PM/ET time slot.

Once again, thanks for the tip, Martha, and, congrats, Five’rs!

H/t, J$P for the Tweet.

“The Five”: Shine’s Summer Show Permanent?

September 27, 2011

“We’ll be watching you over the course of a year on The Five.” Oops! Did America’s Newsroom co-anchor Martha MacCallum let the proverbial cat out of the bag? Yesterday, after presiding over a 2012 Presidential election segment with The Five co-hosts, Andrea Tantaros and Bob Beckel, Martha concluded, “We have a long way to go here, over a year….A lot can happen over the course of a year, Bob and Andrea.” Then, seemingly with a slip of her tongue, she added, “And, we’ll be watching you over the course of a year on The Five.” As a beaming Andrea nodded her head, a slightly smiling Bob, replied, “Thank you.”

The Five: Less than three months ago (in a June 30 FNC press release), Senior VP of Programming Bill Shine announced the premier of his new summer show, which was supposed to replace the departing Glenn Beck‘s eponymous show for a few months. Before the debut of The Five, Shine’s concept of this “revolving FOX personalities” panel was panned by media watchers such as Inside Cable News (including, in full disclosure, the author). However, The Five has surprised the critics: in fact, it has garnered comparable ratings to the Glenn Beck Show according to the Washington Examiner. Perhaps, Shine has taken note and has decided that he does not need an FNC daytime “shakeup” after all.

If so, thanks for the tip, Martha, and, congrats, Five’rs!

[Author’s aside: In addition to Andrea and Bob, The Five co-hosts include Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Eric Bolling, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Juan Williams, Monica Crowley, Judge Andrew Napolitano, and, purportedly, Geraldo Rivera.]

America’s Newsroom – 09/26/11 (@ 9:37 a.m. ET)

Update: More evidence of The Five‘s apparent new status: After Carpe Diem‘s report, The Five co-host Andrea Tantaros announced her show’s new Twitter address and her co-host Bob Beckel’s one as well. N.B. Unfortunately, Andrea gave the wrong address to her program: it links to @TheFive held by a “giuseppe” with protected Tweets.

Andrea Tantaros On: Heavy-Breathing Beckel Off

September 13, 2011

Martha MacCallum: “very Darth Vader.” The Five co-host and liberal playboy Bob Beckel seemed to have it bad for his sexy conservative co-anchor Andrea Tantaros this morning. When the two appeared together on America’s Newsroom in their weekly debate segment, the long-tressed Greek lovely opined on Michele Bachmann’s performance in the GOP Presidential debate: As she did so in a solo shot, Bob could be heard breathing belaboredly off-camera.*

When Andrea had finished, AN co-anchor Bill Hemmer chuckled, “I hear Bob breathing heavy [sic]. I don’t know if that’s because of the question or.” Before he could finish, a grinning Andrea giggled, “Probably ’cause of me!” Grinning, Bill continued, “The coming answer. Or is it Tantaros?” Slightly smiling, Bob stammered, “Juh, juh, it’s just being on, it’s just being on here on the show, Bill, [that] does it.”

As the segment ended, Bill kidded, “Well, you got seven hours [until FNC’s The Five] to catch your breath, Bob. And, we’ll see you both at five o’clock. Alright?” Beaming broadly, a reddening Bob stuttered, “I, you, you, I’ll catch it as best I can.” After Bill had thanked his two guests, his co-anchor Martha MacCallum aptly added, “I mean–very Darth Vader.”

Bad boy Bob Beckel: The Five’s “dark side”?

Aly Back In: Juliet Out?

September 9, 2011

Camerota: “Let’s make it a surprise.” A “Shine” surprise? After abdicating her Fox & Friends Weekend throne for five months, co-host Alisyn Camerota announced her long-awaited return to F&FW tomorrow. Early this morning as she hosted F&F weekday, Aly Tweeted, “FOX News Alert — I’ll be back on F+F this Saturday! …don’t tell Dave and Clayton. let’s make it a surprise. I may wear a disguise.”

Five months to the very day: Aly’s return just in the nick of time? Last week FNC aired a new F&FW promo for its Labor Day weekend that featured her recent sole sub Juliet Huddy with F&FW co-anchors Clayton Morris and Dave Briggs as “One Morning Team” and “the Friends You Trust.” The message seemed pellucidly clear: FNC had dubbed Juliet queen again of the F&FW curvy couch. After all, Aly had been strangely absent from her F&FW post for almost five months (approximately one month longer than the purported “maternity shuffle” for Megyn Kelly): Furthermore, in the interim, Aly had repeated anchored other FNC shows, including, America’s Newsroom, Happening Now, America Live, and even Fox & Friends weekday without returning to her own F&FW.

Perhaps, Aly realized that she needed to move now if she were to reclaim her F&FW throne from Juliet before it was too late: i.e., before her co-hosts, Clayton and Dave, and her viewers switched their allegiance to Juliet. Even though it may appear less likely, FNC Senior VP of Programming Bill Shine himself may have prompted the move to oust Juliet, at least, for now, after her questionable comments two days ago on the O’Reilly Factor: Juliet called GOP Presidential candidate Ron Paul a “yellow belly” who would not appear on O’Reilly and that O’Reilly should have “just slapped him down” – verbally or literally. Coincidently or not, just yesterday, the author wrote, “Unless Alisyn Camerota returns to her long “abandoned” center seat this weekend, F&FW viewers should not be surprised by a ‘contrite’ apology posthaste from jaunty Juliet to Paul and his Praetorian Guard.” (Apparently, Juliet’s apology will have to wait.)

Welcome back, Aly! Hopefully, you will stay. But, whatever you do, do not banish F&FW‘s beloved Juliet from your F&FW realm for good.

Juliet Huddy: “See You Next Weekend”

August 7, 2011

Where’s Aly: lost in Shine’s “shuffle”? The purported “maternity shuffle” ends Monday with Megyn Kelly’s return to her show America Live. However, if Fox & Friends Weekend guest co-host Juliet Huddy’s adieu today is true, it appears that things may not be quite what F&F‘s official co-anchors Clayton Morris (Aly’s “maternity shuffle”), Dave Briggs (Aly “WILL be back”), and Alisyn Camerota (“I’ll be back”) would have their F&FW fans believe: I.e., Aly will finally return to F&FW when Megyn’s maternity leave ends. At the end of F&FW today, Juliet was thanked by Dave “once again for filling in,” she smiling replied, “My pleasure, my pleasure. See you again next weekend.”

Do tell, Juliet. Megyn will be back on her own show next week but Aly won’t. Aly’s “shuffle”: Bill Shine’s “shakeup”?

Aly’s “Upskirt” Tease

July 23, 2011

Doocy: “Oh, finally, an item for TVNewser!” A naughty Fox & Friends guest co-host Alisyn Camerota spiced up the early morning for her co-hosts and fans yesterday. After reading a story on “upskirt bandits” who were stealing liquor from a Broward County, Florida, store by putting the bottles up their skirts, Aly wryly remarked, “Something tells me the police will find them soon. It’s hard to run with a bottle of champagne in your skirt.”* Then, she saucily added, “As I can tell you.”

Laughing, co-anchor Steve Doocy queried, “Are you speaking from experience?” Racily, Aly replied, “Yeah, of course!”

In response, a salty Doocy commented, “Alright, good to know. Thanks, Aly.” Ever game, Aly answered, “Yeah!”

Then, in a final playful retort, Doocy declared, “Oh, finally, an item for TVNewser!”

Not quite, Doocy. Nor did Mediaite catch you and Aly’s bawdy banter. However, Mediaite did run a critical column of your America’s Newsroom counterparts’ coverage of the story. (For its article and vid, link here.)

Clayton: “The [Aly] Update”

July 16, 2011

“Where’s Alisyn?…It might be 2014.” This morning Fox & Friends Weekend co-anchor Clayton Morris and his co-hosts Dave Briggs and Molly Line joked anew about Alisyn Camerota’s personally promised return. After welcoming viewers mid show, a grinning Clayton remarked, “Emails, we saw people out here for the concert series [asking], ‘Where’s Aly? Where’s Alisyn?’ We said, ‘Uh, it might be 2014.'”*

As Molly laughed heartily, Dave chuckled, “Maybe, by the time the presidential elections come around.” Perhaps, not quite ready to relinquish her reins anytime soon, Molly exclaimed, “She’s still here [FNC], though. She’s here all the time! She’s everywhere. She’s all over.”

Then, trying to reassure Aly’s fervant F&FW fans, Clayton insisted, “She’ll be back soon. The maternity, the maternity shuffle is still continuing. So, that’s the update.”

At least, “that’s the plan for now.” As an absent Aly stays adrift on FNC weekdays for three months running with appearances on America’s Newsroom, Happening Now, America Live, and even the weekday Fox & Friends, “the maternity shuffle” claim seems less and less credible. Nevertheless, Clayton may be right.

Who knows? Maybe, Aly will return for her third stint at Fox & Friends Weekend in 2014–if the F&FW ship again starts to list with “the new girl.”

*Fox & Friends Weekend – 07/16/11 (@ 8:01 a.m. ET)

“Update” update: Apparently, Aly is still not so sure about her return either. When a Twitter follower of hers asked, “Miss you on weekend with Dave and Clayton….[a]re you ever coming back [to F&FW]?,” Aly evasively answered, “I miss the guys too!”

“King” Jerrick: Clayton Who?

July 9, 2011

Yet again? Yes, Fox & Friends Weekend guest co-host Mike Jerrick returned to the curvy couch today once more without a single word of acknowledgement of the co-anchor that he had replaced, Clayton Morris. His odd omission was made especially conspicuous in light of the fact that his fellow F&FW “guest” co-host Molly Line began each hour proclaiming that she was “in for Alisyn Camerota.” Stranger yet, co-host Dave Briggs likewise failed to mention the vacationing Clayton when he introduced Mike at the start of the show: He simply said, “Good morning to all of you! Molly and Mike are in this morning….It’s been a while, Mike.”

An unceremonious snub to Clayton? Perchance. But, perhaps, the F&FW producers merely deemed it a mite mal a propos to point out that their F&FW golden oldie was subbing for his greener, younger Philly friend. Nevertheless, even F&FW guest Karl Rove seemed to conveniently overlook his chum Clayton’s absence. In fact, when he was introduced for his regular F&FW segment by Mike, Rove fulsomely flattered, “I can’t believe it: We have the king of Philadelphia here in New York today, Mike.”*

Taking his cue, Dave playfully bent over in obiesance twice to Mike as Molly dutifully followed suit, saying, “Now, we have to bow.” Smiling, Rove remarked, “Dave, Molly, I went to Philadelphia and he made me kneel and kiss the ring before he allowed me into the studio. It was really amazing.” As a deadpanning Dave declared “Right,” Molly pointed to Mike’s ring finger, jesting, “Oh! Wow! We had to do that, too, this morning.”

Perhaps, a fitting tribute to the former F&FW royal. But, a tip of the hat to the new kid on the curvy couch who would be king might have been in order, too. Unless, of course, the “King of Philadelphia” is plotting his return to his erstwhile F&FW throne.

Shine’s Line: “That’s the Plan for Now”

July 9, 2011

“I’m Molly Line in for Alisyn Camerota.” Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Molly Line so welcomed her viewers to the show four times this morning with that insistent line.* Perchance, the current Fox & Friends Saturday co-host who twice laughed seemingly at the prospect of the return of “regular” co-host Alisyn Camerota to F&FW intended to iterate the company line to convince doubtful Alisyn Camerota fans that their favorite host will some day return to her center seat on the curvy couch.

Of course, Molly, “the new girl” of F&F, may well find her task to be Sisyphean at best. After all, Aly has been absent for almost three months from Fox & Friends Weekend and her frequent appearances on other F&F daytime shows, i.e., America’s Newsroom, America Live, Happening Now, and even weekday Fox & Friends in the meantime seem to belie Molly’s now fervent assertions.

At the end of F&FW today, a, perhaps, telling exchange occurred. After F&FW co-anchor Dave Briggs promo’d the program tomorrow, he declared, “Molly Line will be back Saturday, I believe. I assume.” Arching her eyebrows, a smiling Molly shrugged her shoulders and exclaimed, “That’s the plan right now. Yeah!” Chuckling, Dave echoed, “That’s the plan for right now.”

That’s the plan for now: Molly Line in for Alisyn Camerota next Saturday, too. With Aly on vacation all this weekend, Fox News Senior VP of Programming Bill Shine’s “plan for now” for Aly ironically will at least be longer than his plan for his new “shakeup” summertime series The Five (if she returns next weekend). However, unfortunately, for Aly’s acolytes her recently personally promised return seems neither imminent nor foreseeable.

*Fox & Friends Weekend – 07/09/11 (at the top of each hour – 6:00 a.m. ET; 7:00 a.m. ET; 7:59 a.m. ET; and 8:59 a.m. ET)

Apologetic Aly: “I’ll Be Back”

June 18, 2011

Camerota: “I do feel like I sorta vanished without a trace….I’m sorry for all the questions.” Today, Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Alisyn Camerota called in to her weekend show to reassure her concerned fans that she would indeed return to F&FW. At least, sometime in the future.

Before Aly’s telephonic appearance, F&FW producers ran a comedic collage of clips of her and her co-anchors Dave Briggs and Clayton Morris, at Shea Stadium on FOX fan night yesterday.* In the final snippet, America’s Newsroom co-host Bill Hemmer grabbed a reluctant Aly and led her away from her F&FW boys. As Dave and Clayton protested, Aly threw them a kiss and remarked, “I’ve got to go with Bill. I’m sorry. I’ll be back!”

As the humorous montage ended, Clayton dryly commented, “That’s the story of our lives, Bill Hemmer yanking Alisyn away. And, we…managed to get Alisyn on the phone this morning.” On cue, Aly animatedly exclaimed, “Hey, guys! What’s going on, my estranged TV husbands and their new wife [Molly Line]. Hey, Molly!” As Molly laughed, Clayton commented, “I know, my TV wife: we miss you.”

Shaking his head with a wry smile, Dave interjected, “You left us for Bill Hemmer. It was right there.”

Amused, Aly explained, “Well, it’s not permanent. As you know, I’m very fickle. And, I like the whole sort of square dance of different men. So, I’ll be back.”

Clayton responded, “Oh, good. Yeah, it was great to see you last night.” Then, echoing his excepted explanation of two weeks ago, he remarked, “We’re doing the maternity shuffle right now. Explain this maternity shuffle because you’re in the midst of it. Right?”

Elucidating somewhat, Aly answered, “Yeah, Megyn [Kelly of America Live] is out because she had a pretty baby girl; and Martha MacCallum [of America’s Newsroom] is filling in her; and I’m filling in for Martha; and sometimes I’m filling in for Megyn; and Molly is so sweet to fill in for me.” Then, she rightly remarked, “I know it’s been a crazy couple of months.”

After some subsequent impertinent palaver, Clayton commented, “Finally, we’ve been able to answer all of that question [sic] because we get e-mails and Tweets all the time, ‘Where’s Aly?’ So, now everyone knows.”

Apologetically, Aly answered, “I know, and I feel so badly about that. I mean I do feel like I sorta vanished without a trace even though I am hiding in plain sight from 9 to 11 every morning on the East Coast. But, I do really miss you guys, and I really miss all of our loyal viewers.”

Conciliatorialy, Aly concluded, “And, so I’m sorry for all the questions. And, I’m just happy to see you guys last night, and…we’ll be reunited.”

But, when? During Megyn’s maternity leave, Martha has repeatedly gone home to America’s Newsroom while Aly has stayed away from Fox & Friends Weekend. Something afoot, Aly?

[Author’s aside: In the intro to the final hour of the show, Molly remarked, “In for Alisyn. Get a chance to hang out with you guys until she returns: “The new girl” appears to intimate that she has secured the center seat on the F&FW curvy couch until Aly comes back–at least, on Saturdays. As for Sundays, it seems that Ainsley may have similarly locked in her sub role for Aly: During Aly’s phone-in (7:34 a.m. ET), Dave declared, “We want to say that we really appreciate your, your fill-ins here: Molly and Ainsley have done a great job.” N.B. No mention was made of Juliet Huddy or any other Aly sub.]

*Fox & Friends Weekend – 06/18/11 (7:32 a.m. ET)

Dave: Aly “Back on FOX & Friends Some Day!”

June 17, 2011

Every picture tells a story: don’t it? Early this evening, F&F Weekend co-host Clayton Morris sent a NY Mets Fox Fan Night photo of his F&FW colleagues–sans Alisyn Camerota–to his Twitter followers. Perhaps, almost apologetically, F&FW co-anchor Dave Briggs later Tweeted, “Great to see my good friend @AlyatFox at Citi Field, we’ll get her back on FOX & Friends some day!

Perhaps, “some day,” F&FW fans. But, not tomorrow: Earlier today, F&FW‘s sensual “new siren,” Molly Line Tweeted, “In NYC! @ffweekend tomorrow with Clayton and Dave! http://yfrog.com/gypkeyej.”

And, probably, not Sunday either. With Aly away, Ainsley Earhardt seems to have reclaimed her Sunday center seat again as of late. Especially, with rival Juliet Huddy mysteriously still “on the mend.”

Poor, Aly. Just a week ago today, the “ringless” femme fatale rocked her boys and their Fox & Friends weekday fans hard as she sexily “work[ed] for the weekend.” However, when the F&F Weekend finally came, the hapless beauty was nowhere to be seen. Instead, she reappeared midweek  on the America’s Newsroom stoop–with her wedding band, rediscovered, wrapped securely around her ring finger.

“Some day,” Dave? Apparently, an eternity away, Aly acolytes.

Clayton: Aly’s “Maternity Shuffle”

June 6, 2011

Or, Bill Shine’s three-card monte? Just when is Fox & Friends Weekend co-anchor Alisyn Camerota returning to her show?  Three weeks ago, co-host Clayton Morris said, “She might be back next weekend.” Two weeks ago, he said, “We don’t know.” Saturday, he said, “The maternity leave shuffle continues. Uh, Aly still filling in for Martha [MacCallum on America’s Newsroom] who’s filling in for Megyn [Kelly on America Live]: So, a few more weeks.”*

As Clayton continued to fecklessly try to allay the fears of Aly’s fans Saturday, guest co-host Molly Line laughed yet again and co-anchor Dave Briggs smiled once more. But, Aly’s acolytes continue to wonder why she still has not returned to her F&FW post in eight weeks. Not unnoticed is that Aly’s “maternity shuffle partner” Martha MacCallum has returned to her own program, America’s Newsroom, for the last two weeks (if but for a day or so): furthermore, Martha said that she will also be on AN this coming Thursday and Friday.**

However, not only has Aly not gone back to F&FW but also she has not answered her Twitter followers (including the author) as to when she will. Perhaps, Aly has simply moved on or FNC Executive VP of Programming Bill Shine has moved her on. Remember, almost two months before Megyn Kelly went on maternity leave, Shine appeared to do an audition for the curvy couch center seat on F&FW (and F&F). (Cf. “5 Straight Days: 5 Hot Hostesses!“)

Shine, no more unexplained F&FW exits, e.g., Kiran Chetry, Page Hopkins, etc. Your FNC viewers and Aly’s fans deserve better. Is Aly still your F&FW starter?

Molly Line: “The New Girl!”

May 24, 2011

Aly: “Hi, Molly! Great to see you.” Today, America’s Newsroom guest host Alisyn Camerota so welcomed Molly Line, her Fox & Friends Weekend fill-in for three weeks running, to AN to report on New York politics.* Unfortunately for their F&FW fans, the two failed to even mention any Fox News politics as to Aly’s absence (and Molly’s consequent presence) on the show lately.

However, yesterday, Fox & Friends co-hosts, Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade did allude to this new dynamic on F&FW. As the show began with Molly in the middle on the curvy couch, Steve said, “Welcome aboard, folks, to Fox & Friends. Brian, introduce the new girl!”

Grinning broadly, Brian jested, “I’m sorry, Steve. I’m so rude! Molly’s here today.”

Giggling, Molly replied, “Thanks, guys. Happy to be here!”

Turning to Molly, Brian observed, “And, you’ve been here a lot, though. You’ve been on the weekends quite often.” Smiling, Molly answered, “Yeah, I’ve been doing the weekends with Clayton and Dave. It’s been great. Everybody’s been wonderful.”

Subsequently, segueing to the headlines, Steve remarked, “Well, we know that you are normally posted in Boston and it’s great to have you today because we have a lot of breaking news.”

Seemingly, assuring Bill Shine, FNC Executive VP of Programming, that she was more than happy with her new commute, Molly promptly replied, “Yeah. A quick little hop down.”

“The new girl”: THE new girl? With Aly’s return uncertain and FNC anchor Juliet Huddy “on the mend,” Molly seems to be making a good case for it.

[Caveat: FNC correspondent Ainsley Earhardt’s appearance Saturday may indicate that the former F&FW co-host herself may be now under consideration to rejoin Clayton Morris and Dave Briggs on the F&FW curvy couch.]

Juliet: I’ll See You Guys This Weekend on FNC!

April 12, 2011

“Will give you the deets soon.” Fox News anchor Juliet Huddy returns at last according to her latest Tweet. After promising her Twitter followers and long-suffering fans for over a month that she would be “back soon,” she revealed tonight that she would appear on FNC this weekend. She added that she would announce the details “soon.”

Of course, to Juliet, “soon” is a relative term!

[Author’s aside: Juliet, get ready for a good once over–and, a few more. After leaving Fox News’ air over two months ago without any explanation whatsoever, your votaries will assuredly want to know what has happened to their goddess. If Aly continues to guest co-host on America’s Newsroom this week, hopefully, you’ll get a chance to share on the Fox & Friends Weekend curvy couch.]

Update: Today (04/14/11) Juliet Tweeted “the deets”: She announced, “See you guys bright and early on Fox & Friends Saturday!”

Ali & Kiran’s Tale: Busted?

April 8, 2011

Oops! Stephanie didn’t get the American Morning memo today. Fresh from her vacation in Puerto Rico, CNN biz beauty Stephanie Elam returned to the AM set today to report on the government shutdown. Unfortunately, for her AM colleagues, Ali Velshi and Kiran Chetry, she had not received that AM “e-mail” as to Ali’s ad libs.

In her mid-show segment this morning, Stephanie dutifully reported on “government & private workers who’ll be hurt by  [a federal government] shutdown.” After her story, Ali emphasized that, unlike governmental workers who would recoup their lost wages, businesses that catered to spring tourists simply lost their seasonal earnings.

Enthusiastically, Stephanie agreed, “They don’t get it back! That’s just lost. And, this is the beginning, especially like D.C.” Elaborating, she added, “Cherry blossoms–I went to school in D.C.–love it! That is like the best time and people come to see that every year. It’s a beautiful time.”

Concurring, Kiran (Gaithersburg, MD native and Terp alum), interjected, “I know. Me, too…It’s a huge draw. Huge draw!”

Turning to Kiran to make his point more poignantly, Ali proclaimed, “We were actually planning a little trip down there for cherry blossoms.” Looking back at Stephanie, he groused, “But, now if the government shuts down, we’re not gonna have that trip.”

Eying Ali quizzically, Stephanie glanced down at her notes and then back up at him, querying, “You’re not? Was I invited to this trip?” Seeming to sense that her friend and colleague Ali might need to be aided–and, perhaps, even abetted–Kiran nodded emphatically at Stephanie and exclaimed, “Yes!” Echoing his helpful co-host, a stone-faced Aly shook his head but once and unconvincingly uttered, “Yeah.”

Still puzzled, Stephanie looked at Kiran. In response, Kiran explained, “It was on an e-mail that we sent a week ago.” Then, she appeared to give Stephanie a knowing eye and a telling smile.

Meanwhile, Ali pursed his lips and licked them as Kiran spoke. Seeming to realize that his apparently apocyrphal anecdote had been exposed, he jested, “Yeah, it’s a class trip!” Laughing, Kiran chimed (to Stephanie), “It may have been in your spam box.”

Perhaps, that’s what happened to John Roberts’ AM e-mail, too, when he gainsayed Kiran on the Imus Show a few weeks ago. Oh, wait! John probably no longer has his Turner account.

Megyn: I Was the Victim of Bullying

March 22, 2011

Kelly’s catfight recalled? Today, after a segment on school bullying, American Morning anchor Megyn Kelly obliquely remarked, “I was the victim of such bullying [re viral Aussie-big-boy-victim vid] when I was in school.”* Then, as a school counselor might intone, she added, “And, one positive angle I can offer to young girls out there who are victims of it is [that] I do think it makes you a more empathetic person. And, you can take that with you throughout your life and use it  [in] situations like this.”

When Megyn revealed that rather ambagious aside on AL today about her being picked on as a young girl, the author recollected Megyn saucily telling Bill Hemmer (her then America’s Newsroom co-host) about such a high school tormentor. In her account then, Megyn disclosed that when she was a sophomore “in [her] cheerleading uniform,” she was confronted by a senior girl who called her “the ‘b’ word.” In response, Megyn had retorted, “If you call me that one more time, you’re gonna regret it.” When the senior bully did so, Megyn stated that she “let her have it” and that they both” were down on the ground rolling around…in the girl’s locker room” until the gym teacher stopped intervened.

However, Megyn’s bullying moral then was much more direct than it was today. To Bill and her AM audience, she crowed, “She never bothered me again–not that I’m advocating violence.”
