The Crossover’s Ousted Briggs: Back to F&FW?

“[N]ew set. New cast. Better vibe.” Former Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Dave Briggs has been bounced from his brand new NBC Sports show The Crossover according to USA Today Sport’s “TheBigLead.com.” After being off last week, the program will reportedly return this week with Michelle Beadle as the solo host.

According to a USA Today Sports source, Dave and Michelle were doomed from the start since they simply did not get along. Last Monday, Michelle seemed to confirm that sentiment when she Tweeted, “@Crossover is off this week. But when we come back..BRAND NEW SHOW! #cantwait.” As if to remove any doubt, she snarked, “New set. New cast. Better vibe.”

According to TheBigLead.com, Dave “is apparently getting his own on NBC.”  But, if his Fox & Friends Weekend fans get their wish, he will return to join co-anchors Alisyn Camerota and Clayton Morris to “the best show, the best job of [his] life.”

Don’t count on it: Tucker Carlson just got Dave’s old job officially and Bill Shine, FNC Executive Programming VP, has an odd allegiance to Carlsons no matter how ill at ease they seem to be with their early morning co-hosts or their waking viewers.

Michelle Beadle sounds like a real piece of work, what a mean spirited and unprofessional thing to tweet.I`d love to see Dave come back to Fox but it`s not going to happen, for some unknown reason they seem to rate that robot Tucker Carlson and they`re not just going to dump him, unfortunately. On a side note, I`d love to see the other Carlson replaced as well.

  2. RagsTTiger Says:

Dave’s move off of F&F Weekends was no loss. He really was an academic lightweight. Tucker has command of the news in an insightful manner, coupled with a wry sense of humor. The new trio is a good team. It will always be hard to duplicate the free wheeling days with Juliet and Mike on the sofa.

  3. Aiden Says:

Dave worked well alongside Ali and Clayton but I agree that he`s not irreplaceable.Tucker however is a bad fit for F&F weekend, he seems more suitable for serious minded, political shows like Fox news Sunday etc, than the more relaxed atmosphere of a morning show.

  4. Anonymous Says:

Agree with Daria, that was a pretty mean spirited thing to tweet. Can`t see Fox asking Dave to come back, if he even wanted to.I wish him well but I can`t help thinking it was a bad decision on his part to move to NBC.

  5. Anonymous Says:

I adore Tucker. But his being on F/F just doesn’t seen a good fit.

  6. Char Beckman Says:

    Keep Tucker!

  7. Anonymous Says:

Tucker seems like a decent guy but he really isn`t the right person for F&F, someone like Mike Jerrick would have been a better choice

  8. Anonymous Says:

Of course it was a bad decision. Leave a morning show on the highest rated cable news channel to go to NBC Sports. NBC Sports? Who the hell watches that channel?

  9. Tara Says:

I hope everything works out for Dave, not a great decision to leave Fox though.

  10. gigglebox Says:

I can’t think of one person who left fox who is better off, can you? What a bad decision on Dave’s part. He must wake up in a cold sweat every night. I like tucker now; they need him for big Washington stories and other heavier developments. Anna Kooman has no idea why she is talking about as she reads the prompters.

  11. Matt Carter Says:

Agree about Dave, although his former co- host, Michelle Beadle, sounds like a nightmare. Not a fan of Tuckers, still think he is the wrong fit for F&F Wkd..Anna Kooiman is just meh, I`m fairly indifferent to her, she`s just another fox blonde.

  12. Anonymous Says:

Michelle Beadle is awesome. Briggs was a jerk to her behind the scenes. Much love, Beads!

  13. Jackson Says:

Can`t stand Michelle Beadle, there`s something mean spirited about the woman.Wonder if it`s true that she and Dave didn`t get on?.

  14. gigglebox Says:

Tucker has been gone for 2’weekends. What is up?

  15. Poppy Says:

He`s probably just on vacation, hopefully an extended one.I would be quite happy if he never came back.

  16. David Says:

IMHO, Jesse Waters made a good “fill in” host on Fox and Friends Weekend. I have liked his investigative reporting on the O’Reilly Factor. Eric Bolling does a good job when he fills in on Fox and Friends.

I’m not a huge fan of Mike Jerrick or Juliet Huddy.

  17. Kelly Says:

I would start watching F&F week ends again if Dave Briggs returned!

  18. Poppy Says:

Can`t stand Jesse Watters, I don`t want to see him on Fox,period.

  19. John Smith Says:

Michelle Beadle has ALWAYS come across a nasty, critical piece of work. She is cringe-worthy, just go back and look at her work at ESPN and the London Olympics.

Not at all surprising that she would send out a tweet that is as classless as what they’ve reported here.
