Cousin Virgil Visits F&F

Did Fox & Friends get punked? If you are an Andy Griffith Show fan, you may have had a strange sense of de ja vu when watching the Bernie Madoff piggy bank segment with sculptor Palmer Murphy. Murphy was a dead ringer for an older Northern version of Cousin Virgil. The diffident demeanor, the ducking head, and even the sound of his halting voice were almost identical. Even the vivid looks of co-hosts Gretchen Carlson, Brian Kilmeade, and Steve Doocy were reminiscent of Andy and Barney’s reactions to the non-confident, clumsy yet skilled artisan.

The author was shaking his head, too, until he remembered Cousin Virgil. Was Palmer punking F&F?
