Fox & Friends co-anchor Gretchen Carlson sunk her teeth into J-Lo’s fashion flair during a Golden Globe segment. (Jennifer Lopez wore a long, flowing golden brocaded dress with a sash-like top that sexily plunged her neckline to her midriff and bared her shoulders and back.) When entertainment correspondent Jill Dobson raved, “J-Lo[‘s] was one of my favorite dresses: She was gold and bold,” Gretch replied, “I HATED that dress, Jill! Bemused, Jill smilingly asked, “You weren’t a big fan of Jennifer Lopez? Cattily, Gretch snarked, “No, it looked like a piece of tin foil.”

We get it – you can’t stand Gretchen.
What did she ever do to you? Turn you down for a date? Steal your cookies in pre-school?
January 12, 2009 at 1:47 pm
BW, did you actually watch today? If you had, you would have realized that Gretch was on an anti J-Lo tear: she ripped her dress in two previous segments as well.

Look the mirror, Jake. Pot, kettle & all that.

Please reread comment 2.

We generally don’t have the time to watch the entire show, but you seem to home in on anything which you can use to attack Gretchen.
Why did you edit that comment instead of writing a new one? Or did you just want to make it appear that we posted a non sequitur? Cheap shot.

Another ad hominem attack, BW. Before your response had posted, I did edit my comment to more adequately answer your comment. Apparently, you had replied in the interim.
As to your earlier unfounded accusation against the author, perhaps, you should actually watch the entire show before impugning the motivations for the post.

Nice job of censorship – removing the last post we made, one which contained no “offensive language.”
We made no attacks – ad hominem (your favorite phrase) or otherwise – but you can’t fight fair.

Comments deemed incivil or calumnious fall within the ambit of those which may be removed forthwith.

We heartily disagree with your claims, but any examples we may provide will just be deleted anyway. We do not believe that you do a fair or honest job of moderating here.
Yea, yea. This will soon be gone, too.
January 12, 2009 at 4:33 pm
BW, you rarely, if ever, give any examples: you seem to too often merely make baseless assaults, e.g., your latest comment. Civilly debate: don’t merely agitate.

What’s the point in trying to have an honest discussion here when you repeatedly edit and delete posts and comments – yours as well as those of other people?
YOU are the one who attacks, and then you alter (or delete) legit responses. As we’re sure this one will soon be gone, or severely edited to make us look bad. We can’t give examples, because you repeatedly delete and change posts and comments, and we don’t keep screen shots of every iteration of every topic between alterations.
This is pointless.

You don’t seem to be trying to have an honest discussion. In fact, you appear to be doing just the opposite. As to the deleted comments, Al requested that I delete his. As to yours, I have addressed the reasons earlier.
If you choose gutter language or make baseless accusations, you should expect your comments to be edited or deleted.
January 13, 2009 at 8:13 am
My allowance of your impugning of others and me personally has probably been much too tolerant. Your “‘fair’ fight” comment was enlightening: you should be contributing to the discussion instead of attacking the integrity of those with whom you disagree.

Boy, now you’re all fighting! I don’t think I’ve seen this before. J-Lo looks so much better in dresses that show less skin. She is a very beautiful girl, and of all the people that wear that kind of dress, she looks better than anyone.
It’s just not a very flattering dress at all. I agree with Gretchen that it looks sort of like scrunched-up tin foil.
Gretchen gets kind of catty at times, but she doesn’t appear phony to me like some of the people on the news shows. They usually just gush over movie stars and politicians. I’m glad she says what she feels. However, E.D. did that, and where is she now?
January 14, 2009 at 10:31 am
M. Davey, you raise a good point: I probably should have moderated more and engaged less.
January 16, 2009 at 12:30 am
I didn’t like the dress either…it definitely showed too much skin.
