American Morning’s co-host Kiran Chetry’s sub rosa preference for beefcake Mark Spitz vis-a-vis pinup Michael Phelps [as to dueling Sports Illustrated covers from different eras] was revealed by her co-anchor John Roberts. Roberts asked Kiran to share her off-camera comment with the audience. Kiran replied, “I have to go with Spitz: I like a man with a little bit more hair.” She added, “Michael Phelps is a little too clean shaven. He’s a guy: He’s supposed to have armpit hair.” Elaborating further, she said, “You can see on Mark Spitz…the nice halo effect from the armpit hair with the sunset back there.”
Roberts teased, “I know ya’ll at home have been wondering what it takes: now we know.” Then, promo’ing tomorrow’s telecast, he said, “We’ll see you back here again bright and early tomorrow.” Kiran responded, “Maybe. If I’m invited back.”
Kiran, whatever your kink, you’re always welcome to brighten America’s Morning.

Did Kiran happen to notice that every other male swimmer looked like they had a complete body wax (sans their head) ??
If she wants male swimmers that have body hair … She should check out the water polo teams … LOL
They’ve got underwater cameras for the water polo games … One of these days, those games are gonna be XXX-rated … LOL

Funny, I recall Kiran saying she liked a clean-shaven man a while back when talking about Jason Giambi. I guess that didn’t include armpit hair! This is so silly….it’s a good thing for her “The Daily Show” is on a break this week!

Tom, I also believe I heard Kiran saying she likes clean shaven men better. Kiran says some very juvenile things sometimes. She’ll never be taken seriously as a journalist.

Au contraire, Kep. A little levity in a journalist is an attractive trait. The patronizing pontificating journalists are happily a dying breed.

You call it levity, I call it being juvenile and childish. Sure, laugh and joke around once in a while, but commenting on how much body hair the Olympic swimmers have is something I would expect from high school girls engaged in locker room talk at school rather than from a highly paid journalist at CNN. Kiran has a husband and two children at home. Isn’t it time to grow up?
