Roberts Rusty: Kiran Correct

American Morning co-host John Roberts, rarely wrong factually, was a mite rusty this Monday morn as he returned from vacation. In a tease to the segment on swimmer Dara Torres, Roberts mistakenly stated that the forty-one year old phenom had picked up her ninth Olympic medal. In his second promo (after a missive from the author), Roberts, apparently unsure of the Torres actual medal count, merely mentioned that she had picked up a silver medal. However, in the intro to the actual story, Kiran correctly said that it was her tenth and, sweetly so, without noting Roberts’ misstatement.

I don’t get it. How many medals did Roberts say she had?

  2. jakeho Says:

Thanks, Tom. Roberts said that Torres had picked up her ninth rather than her tenth. (As you saw, I, too, was a bit rusty this Monday morn.)

You mention something inconsequential like this, but did you fail to notice how Kiran allowed a guest to go completely unchallenged this morning when he accused John McCain and conservatives of being racists? She let the dude ramble on and on, and she didn’t ask him to name examples of McCain’s alleged racism. What a libby sympathizer she is. A few days ago, they had someone on who had written a book unfavorable to Obama, and Kiran asked him lots of questions. After this interview was over, Kiran immediately turned to an interview with a Democratic Party strategist who attempted to debunk the whole thing. Kiran didn’t press him at all. Is it normal CNN policy to always have a pro-Obama person on after someone says something unfavorable about him? I don’t remember having Bush defenders on following the many authors who have written some very damaging stuff on the President. Kiran is as bad as the other Mainstream media hacks these days. Sad to see, cause she wasn’t always that bad.

Kep, I believe it is a national policy to have a pro-Obama person on ALL the networks, ALL the time…..

Wow, tv news shall sure be interesting if he wins. I predict the demise of CNN, ABC, CBS, MSNBC, NBC (anyone I missed?), as they will have nothing about which to complain, and no one to blame for all the ills of the world.

Oh, wait, bet they stake out Crawford, Texas, just to be consistent…..

Kep, on Friday they actually had a Republican answer some Democrat after Kiran interviewed a women from a Latino front group. But I agree with Kep on today’s interview. The interview with the earpierced liberal from the NYT, right? The lib who wrote the piece in the NYT Magazine about racism and Obama? That was one sad CNN piece of garbage. And unfortunately, Kiran described his article as ‘fascinating’. She could have used the help of Steve and Brian on this one.
