Aly To F&FW’s Rescue

According to TVNewser, Alisyn Camerota will return to Fox & Friends Weekend as co-anchor on July 26, 2008. A stroke of genius! The delicious Italian tart will bring a steady adult hand to the helm to right a listing ship and a saucy, sexy flair to make the ride fun again.

Spicy Aly will have her castrato choir in tune and singing her song in no time. She doesn’t need to tame the boys, Clayton Morris and Dave Briggs, but merely to continue to tutor them. She’ll be no Ainsley! It’s Aly’s world and Clayton and Dave are just privileged to live in it.

As I wrote in an earlier article entitled “Y Ali Can’t Save F&F Weekend,” I do fear that the weekday Fox & Friends will falter without Aly. Try as she must, Gretchen just doesn’t have it. She’s a Miss America in a Miss USA universe. She’s like a liberated June Cleaver that praises the concept of women’s suffrage but doesn’t quite appreciate her new empowerment. The center seat needs a gorgeous gal who can and will set Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade straight without hesitation at a moment’s notice.

Roger, thanks for getting back with the program.

I will be sad to see Aly gone from the Weekday show. What they need to do it get rid of Gretchen, give the center seat to Aly. Then for the weekend bring back Page, Kelly and E. D. and get rid of the nit wit Courtney. However, Aly will bring back some class to the weekend which it has been lacking since Page was “let” go from the center seat. I am disappointed with Fox. They need to get their act together. Clayton and Dave have to go as well. They are not good for the weekend show at all.

  2. Tina Says:

I actually thought the chemistry was great today between Brian, Gretchen and Clayton. The “male”exchanges were great! Gretchen seemed to loosen up a little as the morning went on. I think Aly will be a good addition to the weekend as I don’t see them bringing back people who have other jobs now and responsibilities.

  3. Al Davis Says:

Assuming this is for the right reasons and not some demotion or temp job before getting the boot, I agree that it’s brilliant. While the weekday F&F will suffer temporarily without Ms. Alisyn, F&FW has been in free-fall and she has the ability to set it right. With her on, I can even take the two boys.

If I’m any example, her presence on F&FW will even improve viewership on other FNC weekend shows, too.

I’m with Al, in that I’ll give it a try with Aly. But after seeing the Bozo Boiz with Gretchen this morning, I don’t know if I can take it.

Maybe Alisyn coming in is the first step in redoing the show?

  5. G.R.I.T.S. Says:

As I posted under the previous topic, I don’t think I can even watch F&FW with Ali if I have to take the two clowns with her. She’s a great talent, but she needs good help to carry the show. These two weekend guys just don’t have it. BTW, I couldn’t take the triple threat of Gretchen, Dull Dave, and Obnoxious Clayton. It was “Bye, Bye” for me when I saw the team this AM.

  6. boogiewoogee Says:

G.R.I.T.S., I hope you emailed yourcomments@foxnews.com to tell them just how fast you turned the channel.

I fear that the RC freaks are already gearing up to try to get Ainsley Airhead into Gretchen’s seat, because they are trashing Gretchen more than usual on their forum.

I know that Gretchen isn’t the most popular here (to put it mildly), but do we really want Ainsley in that seat FIVE DAYS A WEEK??!

  7. G.R.I.T.S. Says:

I’ve emailed fox many times over the past few months. Doesn’t look like it’s done any good. I’ll do it again just to let them know what I think.

I certainly hope Ainsley is not moving to weekdays. I will definitely quit watching them as well as the weekends.

  8. boogiewoogee Says:

I wonder if our emails have anything to do with Aly moving to the weekends, to try to boost up the show and bring back the sane people.

I barely watched yesterday, and when I saw both of the idiots with Gretchen, I changed the channel – and didn’t come back to Fox until Studio B started a little while ago.

  9. M. Davey Says:

Maybe this is all a tutoring session for the Saturday groups. Who will be reading the news? Gosh, my head is spinning. I was out of touch in the mornings for a week, and I’ve just lost track. I have only kept up through this blog and it’s become so confusing.

Is anyone else curious about who’s out in this round of musical chairs? The choices seem to be:

    1) Aly in the middle, the 2 bozos on either side, Ainsley bumped down to headline reader and Courtney booted.
    2) Aly in the middle, the 2 bozos on either side, Courtney continuing to fumble headlines and Ainsley out in the cold.
    3) One of the bozo boys gone, the other in the middle, with Ainsley and Aly on either side, Courtney continues to mangle headlines.

I’m betting on #2 as the most likely.

Painsley had trouble with the Fox News Alert at shortly before 1am pdt today (Wed July 16th) … with the Israli soldiers’ bodies for Hezbollah loons …

As much as I like Aly … I know that she cannot save the weekend show as long as Buddy & Borky Buffoon & one of the boobie twins are on there …

It might work if Aly was allowed to put a ball gag in their mouths & have them hog-tied off the set …

The staffing changes over the past two years have changed me from a Day One FNC watch everyday fan … to a “Flip if I can” sometimes FNC viewer …

I’m watching more of “Red Eye” than F&F … Though, if one of the Buffoon brother or Boobie twins are on there, I go back to watching another network …

  12. G.R.I.T.S. Says:

#2 is probably the odds-on favorite. Ainsley has other gigs w/Fox, so she’ll likely be the odd man out. Maybe they’ll give Rick a shot at the couch. I think he’d be a great addition. He’s mature enough–but also goofy enough to handle that seat well. Kind of what they had in Greg but with weather experience, not military. They could drop either Dave or Clayton as far as I’m concerned. I might could watch then. I still don’t think even Ali with the current bozos will make be a viewer again. Hubby and I are both really ticked off w/Fox for crashing the bus like they did.

  13. LT in Ky Says:

Makes me wonder… What is it exactly that Carlson/Close has on Ailes? How does the least personable, interesting, entertaining, witty, etc… continually win out over those who are smarter and better in every way I can think of?

  14. tiamatsrevenge Says:

Let’s see … Casey Close works for CAA (a ginormous talent agency) … reps people like Derek Jeter … Casey can easily get his hands on CAA talent for his wife’s tv show … like the Manning Brothers, Matt Leinart …

Casey heads CAA’s baseball division …

It’s not what they have on FNC … It’s the guests that Casey can get for Gretchen …

  15. A.M. Says:

    Lt., tiamatsrevenge

    You’ve nailed it!

Gee, I wonder how Brian got that “exclusive” interview with Beckham?

  16. boogiewoogee Says:

Gretchen is less “personable, interesting, entertaining, witty, etc.” than even Ainsley and Courtney? Wow.

Even if Gretchen’s husband helps get guests, how does that explain the ratings rebound since Gretchen took the center seat – at the same time that the F&F First ratings were tanking? And how on earth did F&F (or even FNC!) get good guests before Gretchen was with the network?

  17. Olivia Says:

So why am I getting pop-ups from FoX-News (supposedly) asking me to vote whether I think Gretchen should be fired or not? Anyone else get it? Very weird!!!

  18. boogiewoogee Says:

    Quit trolling, Ainsley!
