F&F Weekend: More Twilight Zone

As I watched Fox & Friends Sunday (03/02/08), I thought that my TiVo had recorded a weekday F&F. There sat Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, and Gretchen Carlson with no explanation for their appearance together on the Sunday show. Ainsley Earhardt read the headlines and feted F&F’s A-team as the “hardest working staff right here at Fox News.” (Alisyn Camerota, the usual F&F weekday news reader, co-hosted America’s Newsroom, during the usual third F&F Weekend hour.) Other oddities included the usually unflappable Doocy butchering Ainsley’s last name and the shorter two-hour duration of the progam. Ainsley’s quote, “See, here at Fox, we like to be feminine so we don’t wear the pants,” got the most ink. However, her second statement, “Would you like us to wear pants, Brian, because we can do that for you if you’d like us to?” seemed more salient to me. It represents the sexy, flirty, and politically incorrect attitude that makes it the number one cable news morning program.

This past weekend Ainsley Earhardt, Clayton Morris, and Greg Kelly returned to co-host the program without mention of the prior programming anomalies. If this trio is the new weekend triad for F&F, will it grow once more into a must-see TV show for FNC, or will it need further tweaking to get its game back? As an aside, Kelly Wright still appears as an FNC co-host and correspondent elsewhere, and Page Hopkins is still Missing In Action.

J, Ainsley may be an Earnhardt, but she’s no “Intimidator”! (I realize now that the “n” is missing from her surname)

My pants vote for her is Calvin Kleins. Second, Jordache. (hey, am I living in the ’80’s or what? She sort of resembles an old girlfriend from the ’80s btw)

G, she’s a sweet lass. At least, you didn’t say No Excuses. :-)
