Kelly “Confesses”: I Cohabitated, Lived in Sin

April 6, 2013

“Before my first marriage and it ended in divorce.” America Live anchor Megyn Kelly revealed to her fans Thursday that she lived with her first hubby Dr. Dan Kendall before they tied the knot but she stressed that she had changed her ways when she later met her second and current husband Doug Brunt.

In a segment subtitled “The New Normal: Study Finds Cohabitation Is on the Rise,” Megyn introduced the story, disclosing, “I cast no judgment by calling it ‘living in sin’ because I have done it.”* After an entertaining discussion with her panel (Kirsten Powers and Monica Crowley) about the merits of not “giving the milk away for free,” Megyn further revealed, “I will say this for the record: I, I cohabitated, lived in sin, before my first marriage and it ended in divorce.”

Summing up her own life’s lesson for the AL audience, Megyn continued, “And, then I married Doug, and we did not live together at, at all until we got married. And, we’re very happily married with two kids and one more on the way.” For any who might be offended with her conclusion, she laughed, “So, you know, for what it’s worth!”

“The Five”: Shine’s Summer Show Permanent?

September 27, 2011

“We’ll be watching you over the course of a year on The Five.” Oops! Did America’s Newsroom co-anchor Martha MacCallum let the proverbial cat out of the bag? Yesterday, after presiding over a 2012 Presidential election segment with The Five co-hosts, Andrea Tantaros and Bob Beckel, Martha concluded, “We have a long way to go here, over a year….A lot can happen over the course of a year, Bob and Andrea.” Then, seemingly with a slip of her tongue, she added, “And, we’ll be watching you over the course of a year on The Five.” As a beaming Andrea nodded her head, a slightly smiling Bob, replied, “Thank you.”

The Five: Less than three months ago (in a June 30 FNC press release), Senior VP of Programming Bill Shine announced the premier of his new summer show, which was supposed to replace the departing Glenn Beck‘s eponymous show for a few months. Before the debut of The Five, Shine’s concept of this “revolving FOX personalities” panel was panned by media watchers such as Inside Cable News (including, in full disclosure, the author). However, The Five has surprised the critics: in fact, it has garnered comparable ratings to the Glenn Beck Show according to the Washington Examiner. Perhaps, Shine has taken note and has decided that he does not need an FNC daytime “shakeup” after all.

If so, thanks for the tip, Martha, and, congrats, Five’rs!

[Author's aside: In addition to Andrea and Bob, The Five co-hosts include Greg Gutfeld, Dana Perino, Eric Bolling, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Juan Williams, Monica Crowley, Judge Andrew Napolitano, and, purportedly, Geraldo Rivera.]

Update: More evidence of The Five‘s apparent new status: After Carpe Diem‘s report, The Five co-host Andrea Tantaros announced her show’s new Twitter address and her co-host Bob Beckel’s one as well. N.B. Unfortunately, Andrea gave the wrong address to her program: it links to @TheFive held by a “giuseppe” with protected Tweets.

Megyn Goes Bottomless

October 6, 2010

America Live co-host Megyn Kelly treated her male admirers to a strange exhibition this morning. As Slate author Troy Patterson aptly observed, Megyn is “comfortably upfront about working her sex appeal.” However, today, was a different matter altogether: Fox News’ sexy siren went completely bottomless.

Unfortunately, for Megyn’s amorous acolytes, the DVR will probably not display their ardent desire: Rather, it may give them their most noxious nightmare. No, her long luscious legs were not on display nor were her “killer B’s” but Fox News censorious content of late was. E.g., instead of FNC’s usual lingering looks at Megyn’s sexy stems during interviews with regular guests such as Stuart Varney, Monica Crowley, and Richard Socarides, it gave its viewers not a single shot of Megyn’s legs nor a compensatory gaze at her ample bosom to boot.

With America’s Newsroom’s new look, Happening Now‘s Live Desk design, and, apparently, now America Live‘s sexless schema, Fox News vibrant viewers are simply left with Fox & Friends femme fatale, Gretchen Carlson. Enough to carry the day, or, at least, the morning? Only the ratings will tell.

Update: Johnny Dollar kindly e-mailed the explanation for Megyn’s “going bottomless” on AL. He revealed, “Megyn is in a different studio. Hers is being revamped for election-night duties. The shots are close-in because it’s a smaller space.”

Live Desk Canned: Gallagher?

January 29, 2010

Gone: without a Trace? Not quite. As the end of the program today, co-anchor Trace Gallagher announced, “As you may have heard, this is the last day of the Live Desk….Megyn Kelly’s new show, America Live, will be starting on Monday.” Without his co-host Martha MacCallum (who was already with her new partner, Bill Hemmer, on America’s Newsroom), Trace seemed somewhat lost. Sounding more than a mite melancholy, he added, “And, of course, you can’t get rid of me. I’ll be along for big stories and breaking news. It has been a great time.”

When the author heard Trace’s farewell, he thought of another anchor who appeared to exit his show under similar circumstances, i.e., Alan Colmes. When Alan left the popular Hannity & Colmes apparently to allow Sean Hannity to have his eponymous show Hannity in the same time slot, Alan was bound for unnamed future projects: thereafter, Alan has made guest appearances on various FNC shows and has had a recurring role on the O’Reilly Factor as a debate opponent of his conservative sister-in-law Monica Crowley. If Trace is fortunate, maybe, he will find a similar position, and, possibly, even be paired regularly in some capacity with his recently frequent Live Desk guest co-host, Juliet Huddy.

Regardless, good luck, Trace!

O’Reilly’s Cultural War Pinups?

March 31, 2009

Last night “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi’s sexy new Hardee’s ad had Bill O’Reilly, Margaret Hoover, and Monica Crowley all heated up in the Cultural Warrior segment. As O’Reilly questioned his two blonde battle babes about the appropriateness of the commercial for children, he also wondered aloud whether Margaret ever ate a burger like that.

For the reader who has not seen the ad, the Indian actress and model coos about how the Western Bacon [Thickburger] reminds her of sneaking out in high school before dinner to “savor that sweet spicy sauce, leaving no evidence behind.” As she does so, she hikes up her short skirt, lustfully puts a large piece of bacon in her mouth while spilling its sauce on her bare leg, wipes it up with her middle finger, and lovingly licks it clean.*

In response to O’Reilly’s randy query, Margaret teased that if he were lucky he might see her do it. Monica saucily added that he might get to see them do it together. Maybe, not for children but, apparently, for O’Reilly and his Cultural Warriors.
