“I’m Alisyn Camerota”: Gretchen Who?

March 21, 2013

“Gretchen is off this week and Aly is in her spot.” Thus, Fox & Friends co-anchor Steve Doocy explained yesterday the latest absence of co-host Gretchen Carlson, who has reportedly been haggling with FNC for her own show.*  However, today, without any mention of filling in for Gretchen, guest co-anchor Alisyn Camerota introduced herself at the start of each hour simply saying, “I’m Alisyn Camerota.” Noteworthy? Perhaps.

As Gretchen absences seem more and more oft, Fox & Friends fans may be forgiven for wondering if FNC Executive VP of Programming Bill Shine is auditioning vixens anew for the center seat on the curvy couch. Monday, Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt made an appearance; Tuesday, Anna Kooiman, the former F&FF co-anchor who has suddenly enjoyed a significant presence on F&F (corresponding with the one-year anniversary of the latest iteration of F&FF which she and Ainsley christened together).* Yesterday and today, Aly, the consummate center F&F curvy couch co-anchor, took “Gretchen’s place” not only without a hitch but took it up a notch as usual.

If Gretchen does leave her seat on the F&F shared sofa for her own FNC chair, it seems obvious that Aly would be the natural choice. But, Anna appears to be the “wild card”: She’s smart, beautiful, and, oh, so ENERGETIC–and F&F wants its viewers to get to know her better:  Lately, it has proudly showcased her on a very regular basis, e.g., as the sexy “turbo kickingteacher [vid]; the sensual Cirque du Soleil acrobat; and as the fearless five-city reporter in search of an “honest man.”

Nevertheless, the author tends to think that the more seasoned Aly is and would continue to be a natural fit with the weekday A-Team of Steve and Brian Kilmeade. As for Anna? She certainly would serve as a sexy, sharp, spunky F&F Weekend co-host to contrast with the ever awkward Tucker Carlson and “tech geek” Clayton Morris if Aly moves up when Gretch moves out.

Fox & Friends First Turns One: Growing Pains?

March 15, 2013

Co-host Ainsley Earhardt: “The four of us.”* F&FF‘s Big Love to less love? On March 5, 2013, Ainsley and her co-anchor Heather Nauert marked their first anniversary on the new Fox & Friends First with a much smaller family of co-hosts and a wiser (or, perhaps, more wizened) version of its younger self. Of the earlier stable of beauties (Anna Kooiman, Ainsley Earhardt, Juliet Huddy, Patti Ann Browne, Arthel Neville, Heather Childers, Heather Nauert, and Jamie Colby) and two beasts (Dave Briggs and Clayton Morris), only Ainsley, the two Heathers, and PAB survived the year. As to the show itself, it seems to be still evolving.

When F&FF made its debut [vid1], it proudly featured its “twin” sexy South Carolina sirens, Ainsley and Anna, who more than made good on their saucy promise to rouse their viewers with a “shot of expresso” [vid2].”  Bringing “SexyBack” a la the original F&FF [vid3] in the ’00′s (with Kiran Chetry, Alisyn Camerota, and Juliet Huddy), Anna and Ainsley saucily showcased their sexy stems in short dresses for their fervid fans as F&FF cameras took obligingly lingering shots. Subsequently, after two femme editors (1, 2) mocked the morning gamfest, they returned the very next day to a new set which hid their gorgeous gams behind a huge table: However, after the author derided them for “Losing Sexy Fast” and “Happening Not!,” F&FF switched course again and ditched the daffy desk.

Approximately, four months later, F&FF‘s website signaled that other changes were on the way when it provided only the bios of the current F&FF co-hosts, Ainsley, the two Heathers, and PAB. Subsequently, Juliet moved on to become a Fox 5 Good Day NY co-host; Arthel to her weekends as America’s News Headquarters co-anchor; Jamie Colby to her weekends also to America’s News HQ; and Clayton to his F&FW spot (and F&F guest co-host); and Dave ultimately to NBC Sports (with Michelle D. Beadle).

Re the programming itself, F&FF has ditched the split-screen opening with shots of the lovelies preparing for their show juxtaposed to the opining of Bill O’Reilly to conclude the Factor: in its place, F&FF producers run a modern-day version of American television viewers beginning their day to the national anthem and Old Glory waving in the wind before the programming begins. Mid-show, the gorgeous gals stretch their gams and stand rather than flaunt their legs and sit to proclaim the five important stories of the next half-hour. Furthermore, the “B Team” beauties no longer end their show with a segue to the F&F “A Team”: Rather, they bid their viewers adieu in lieu of risking another uncomfortable toss (“F&F Cat Spat: Gretch ‘Slimes’ the Two Heathers”).

Growing pains? Over the year, F&FF has pared its “perfect ten” to a “final four.” A winning team for the future?

[Author's aside (re the subtitle): When Heather Nauert concluded F&FF's anniversary show, saying, "It's always a great time together," Ainsley answered, "The four of us."]

Heather’s Virgin Vacation: Best Birthday Ever :)

January 14, 2013

“Thanks @tzb3.” Throwing caution to the winds, Fox & Friends First co-host Heather Childers shared her daily diary and personal pictures with her Tweeps as she took a rapturous romp in the Virgin Islands with her apparent beau @tzb3. From the time that  she and her honey left Charlotte, North Carolina, Heather regaled her followers with photos of her island destination (St. Thomas), with her sublime experiences (wading in the surf, greeting the sunrise, dining shore-side, catching the St. Thomas – St. John Ferry, imbibing her balcony rainbow, and basking in the Baths), and with a few sexy bikini pics to boot (1, 2).

Yes, Heather can hang with her shapely Fox & Friends First colleagues Ainsley Earhardt and Anna Kooiman (and alums of the same South Carolina elementary school). Surely, Ainsley caught Jay Leno’s eye when her derriere was ogled seemingly by former F&FW co-host Dave Briggs and Anna snared the attention of F&F co-anchors Brian Kilmeade and Steve Doocy with her “booty shaking” morning dance: But, Heather has now brought her own sexy Southern touch to FNC by sharing the ambiance, aesthetics, and allure of her Caribbean birthday bash with her own fervid fans.

Heather heat: Hot Child-ers in the City!

[Author's aside: Re "Best birthday ever :) Thanks @tzb3" in title, supra, cf. Heather's "Sparkling lights of #StThomas!" post."]

Aly: “Steve & Brian Here with Me”

December 15, 2012

Gretchen: Hey, everyone! I’m…in for Shep today. Aly at Fox & Friends’ helm soon? Today, FNC anchor Alisyn Camerota was in charge of the F&F “A Team” as F&F Weekend covered the Connecticut school carnage. After a special weekend edition of F&F First, Aly welcomed her audience and the F&F “big boys,” saying, “Good morning, everyone! We appreciate you joining us on this very sad morning. It’s great to have Steve [Doocy] and Brian [Kilmeade] here with me.”

Remarkably, Aly did not note the absence of either of her regular F&FW co-hosts Clayton Morris or Dave Briggs. Furthermore, in this Fox & Friends “special edition,” Aly did not mention her purported “A Team” counterpart Gretchen Carlson, who was conspicuously missing this morning. Has the changing of the F&F “A Team” guard already begun?

Only two days ago, seldom solo host Gretchen notably filled in for Shepard Smith on Studio B, an FNC afternoon show (saying, “Hello, everyone! I’m…in for Shep today”):* Perhaps, her contract negotiations have begun to bear more fruit. According to New York Magazine, Gretchen was “said to want to host her own show on the network but Fox executives [were] resistant to the idea”: furthermore, it reported that a source had said that she had reached a “short-term accord that would keep her on the curvy couch with Steve Doocy and Brian Kilmeade until the election” but added that “after November, it’s unclear.”

Perhaps, tellingly, Gretchen has seemed to be particularly strident in her polemics lately–as if she might be auditioning for “her own show.” And, her co-hosts Steve and Brian appear reluctantly to be biting their tongue all the more. Perchance, they think that she is starting to spread her wings in anticipation of a flight on her own soon to a later hour on FNC.

Post-election F&F: Gretch a goner? If so, is Aly their new “It girl”? Stay tuned.

Ailes’ Angel Aly: “Just Smoking Hot!”

December 10, 2012

Camerota, Aly Camerota. Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Alisyn Camerota went off on a secret assignment last week with her FNC colleague Ainsley Earhardt. After promising to provide clues to her Twitter followers, Aly Tweeted them airport and arrival pics (1, 2). Shortly thereafter, Aly sent them a video of herself and Ainz, revealing, “We’re here [in Austin] learning how to be action heroes at the very place that trains the stunt doubles for the James Bond movie”: Elaborating in the clip, Ainz added, “We’re going to be blowing up cars, shooting guns [and] jumping through rings of fire; it’s gonna be fun!

Proving Ainz’s point, Aly’s apparent assistant Tweeted her own inside shot, saying, “This looks way frightening @AlisynCamerota packing heat via.me/-7i442ue.” Adding to the intrigue, Aly Tweeted a photo of herself in training,  scaling a mock skyscraper in tandem with Ainz. Subsequently, she sent an action photo of herself with wind-blown tresses next to a roaring fire (with the caption “Just another typical day in the life of a news gal). To top it off, Aly Tweeted a “Charlie’s Angels” shot of herself and Ainz sexily posing with big guns in front of a raging inferno: Tantalizing her fans further in the caption, she wrote, “Stay tuned to find out what @ainsleyearhardt and I have been up to.”

Stay tuned indeed. Ailes’s Angels: Ainz and Aly Cat. Rowrrr!

[Author's aside: "Just smoking hot!" in the title of this article is derived from F&FW co-anchor Clayton Morris' apt description of Aly about two weeks ago. After a smoking segment promo, Clayton turned to Aly and racily remarked, "You smoke." When Aly chuckled, co-host Dave Briggs interjected, "She's just smoking!" Eying Aly, Clayton exclaimed, "She's just smoking hot!" F&FW - 11/25/12 (@ 9:00 a.m. ET)]

Dave M.I.A.: “With My Little Angel”

December 8, 2012

In the hospital? Today, an absent Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Dave Briggs watched his show from a certain undisclosed location–with a special young lady in his life. Cryptically, he Tweeted, “Thanks @ericbolling for filling in, watching you @ClaytonMorris @ainsleyearhardt w/my little angel lockerz.com/s/267345049.”

In Dave’s missive, he included a poignant photo of his ten-month-old daughter Logan. The beautiful little girl appeared to be sipping from a baby bottle in a hospital baby bed (as F&FW aired on a TV screen in the distance). No explanation was given–even to his concerned Twitter followers.

Hope your “little angel” is well, Dave. Or, gets well soon!

[Author's aside: Even though the responses of Dave's fans were available earlier in the day, they no longer appear to be as Twitter turned his "Details" to "More***."]

Ainsley’s “Back”: “What Did You Do to Me?”

November 20, 2012

Clayton: “My, my clothes are still on!” The Coolidge effect? Fox & Friends Weekend guest co-anchor Clayton Morris seemed to have a revived libido Sunday when sexy guest co-host Ainsley Earhardt filled in for F&FW regular co-anchor Alisyn Camerota. In fact, he turned rather rakish during an “Amazing Kreskin!” segment when Ainsley was asked to close her eyes for a card “test” by the famed mentalist.

As famed mentalist “Amazing Kreskin” promoted his new book, Conversations with Kreskin (with a foreword by FNC Prez Roger Ailes), he told of Ailes’ praise for his prowess with cards: Pulling out a deck, he asked Ainsley to close her eyes and to trust him. Smiling as she shut them, she replied, “I trust you.” Pointing to both Clayton and her other co-anchor Dave Briggs, she laughed, “I don’t trust these guys! I’m going to trust you. My life is in your hands.”

When Kreskin had executed his legerdemain for his test of Ainsley, he said, “I want you to open your eyes.” Grinning, Clayton chimed, “You can open you eyes now.” Joining the chorus, Dave commanded, “Open your eyes now. Open them!”

Looking down at her cleavage as she did so, a reddening Ainsley asked, “What did you do to me?” Beaming, Dave declared, “We didn’t touch you–at all!” As Dave put up his palms to assert his innocence, Clayton racily remarked, “My clothes are still on!” In response, Dave’s eyes widened in incredulity as he struggled vainly to maintain his composure: Meanwhile, a chuckling Ainsley blushed all the more. But, she smiled sweetly at her naughty lad Clayton.

Ainsley: back to the future with her bad boys on the weekend? Aly did debut her new do proudly on F&F weekday Monday.** And, as to Gretchen, the election is over.

Doubly “Blessed” Ainsley: “It’s Official!!!”

October 25, 2012

Gets new hubby–and new job! Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt returned to her show today with a brand new lease on life. Last night, Ainsley announced via Twitter that she, Heather Childers, Heather Nauert, and Patti Ann Browne are now the “official” Fox & Friends First co-hosts. Today, she proclaimed on F&FF how “blessed” she was to have a “beautiful” new husband, former Clemson quarterback Will Proctor (as she shared wedding photos with her viewers mid-show).*

As Ainsley revealed to her Facebook friends, Ainsley got married to Will less than two weeks ago (October 13). Subsequently, the two lovers went on a romantic romp to an undisclosed location. But, Ainsley indicated that it would not be all fun and games: She Facebooked, “Even on our honeymoon, we are excited to watch the debate. Critical time for our great country!”

Congratulations, Ainsley, to you and Will! And, laurels, on your selection as official F&FF co-host!

[Author's aside: Over three months ago, the author posited in Carpe Diem's "Fox & Friends First: The Four Now?" that the F&FF roster appeared to have been pared down to Ainsley, P.A.B., and the two Heathers. Happily, Ainsley finally confirmed it yesterday.]

Ainsley’s Bridal Shower: Updated!

September 27, 2012

[Earhardt's tiger revealed, infra.] Seventh heaven: Ainsley and six other Ailes’ angels celebrate a new beginning. Yesterday, Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt‘s hump day was extra special. The sweet Southern belle was honored with a bridal shower by her Fox News family and friends, including fellow FNC femmes, Patti Ann Brown, Heather Childers, Maria Molina, Janice Dean, Heather Nauert, and Anna Kooiman (photo).

Seemingly, the die is now cast: Ainsley’s bridal shower has been thrown. And, yesterday, Janice signaled her hearty approval to her Twitter followers with Tweets about the festive affair. In one missive, she sent a photo of Ainsley and the FNC femme fatales, writing, “From beautiful @ainsleyearhardt bridal show this afternoon @FoxFriendsFirst pic.twitter.com/sHeija7K. In another, she sent a pic of a radiant solo Ainsley sipping an apparent mimosa, proclaiming, “Beautiful bride to be! @ainsleyearhardt.” This morning, an appreciative Ansley laconically replied, “Janice – thanks for the tweet.”

Apparently, Ainsley was a wee bit overly eager last week when she alluded to her “husband.” Perhaps, she already felt secure in his arms at her “Home Sweet Home.” Cheers, Ainsley!

Update: Subsequent to the posting of the author’s article, Janice Tweeted, “A Bridal Shower for our beautiful @ainsleyearhardt @FoxFriendsFirst (plenty of pictures!) weather.blogs.foxnews.com/2012/09/27/ainsleys-bridal-shower. In her post, Janice shares fabulous photos of Ainsley, six more Ailes Angels, and other FNC colleagues partying at Sarabeth’s restaurant in Manhattan. To boot, she reveals the name of Ainsley’s hubby-to-be–Will Proctor (former Clemson quarterback).

Ainsley Just Married? “Our Husbands”

September 19, 2012

Did Fox & Friends First co-hostc Ainsley Earhardt announce today that she has tied the knot again? This morning, she certainly appeared to do so after her myth-debunking health segment with Dr. David Samadi of FNC’s “Medical A Team.” As she concluded the interview, she asked Dr. Samadi if warm milk helped one get to sleep: he answered that one would have to drink “gallons and gallons of milk” for its tryptophan to induce slumber. Subsequently, when Ainsley tossed back to her co-host Heather Nauert, she jested, “Do you hear this, Heather? So, our husbands have no excuse when they sit on the sofa after Thanksgiving dinner because they’re not eating gallons and gallons of turkey.”* [Italics added for emphasis.]

One final connubial tease by Ainsley? Three months ago (June 18),the author noticed the new big rock that she suddenly began to sport on F&FF: In a Carpe Diem article entitled “Ainsley Earhardt ‘in Shape’: Blushing Bride 2B?,” he noted that the usually “ringless” Ainsley had Tweeted a pic of herself proudly sporting the ring to her followers and had hinted to her F&FF fans two weeks earlier that she was a bride-to-be in an “Wedding Workout: Exercise to Get You Ready for the Big Day” segment with Nikki Glor. Almost two months later (August 15), when she guest-hosted on Fox & Friends weekday, Ainsley finally admitted, “Yes, I’m getting married.” Today, she seemed slyly to tell her own audience on Fox & Friends First that she is now married when she playfully remarked “our husbands.”

Congratulations, Ainsley?

Update: Ainsley and her putative hubby’s new abode? Only six days ago, she Tweeted a photo of a beautiful house on the shore to her followers, teasing, “The Beach – Home Sweet Home.”

Ainsley Admits: “Yes, I’m Getting Married”

August 15, 2012

Finally! FNC anchor Ainsley Earhardt acknowledged on Fox & Friends Monday that she is indeed wedding anew. But, it should come as no surprise to her fans, at least, her Carpe Diem ones, who should have suspected that the single Southern belle was no longer lonely. Approximately two months earlier, CD reported that that Ainsley had Tweeted an Fox & Friends First pic of her with an apparent wedding ring on her left finger: Further, it noted that exactly two weeks earlier she had interviewed and joined Nikki Glor a/k/a Nikki Fitness in an F&FF fitness segment entitled, “Wedding Workout: Exercise to Get You Ready for the Big Day.” And, now, Ainsley has made her new engagement status official.

On Monday, Ainsley made her connubial announcement as the very first block of F&FF concluded Monday. When she had finished reading the headline news which ended with a story about Jennifer Aniston’s new engagement for a second marriage, fellow guest co-host Eric Bolling wryly remarked, “The second most important wedding coming up.” Sitting back and smiling coyly, Ainsley haltingly asked, “I know. Oh, the second most important?” Before Eric could answer, anchor Steve Doocy interjected, “After yours!” Beaming broadly and ducking her head demurely, a reddening Ainsley declared, “Yes, I’m getting married.”

Congratulations, Ainsley! But, who’s the lucky fellow?

[Author's aside: Eric's premature proclamation? Perhaps. Even though Ainsley twice Tweeted (1, 2) Monday about the show, she failed to mention the good news to her Twitter followers.]

“Scion” Heather: Ainz “Honky Tonk Angel”

July 18, 2012

Foxes’ “Civil War”? F&FF blonde beauties’ pillow fight. Yesterday, Fox & Friends First co-anchor Heather Nauert landed the first downy blow to her fellow flaxen-haired co-host Ainsley Earhardt. The Yankee Heather Locklear look-alike “scion of a prominent Chicago-area family” playfully dubbed her Reb South Carolina belle counterpart, who proudly hold her wedding reception at the SC guv’s mansion, “Honky Tonk Angel.” But, Ainsley was no match: Just girlie giggling ensued.

F&FF‘s leggy lovelies started the morning with their daily “5 @ 5:00″ headline news segment. After Ainsley read a story on the death of the “Queen of Country Music” Kitty Wells a/k/a Muriel Ellen Deason, whose seminal hit “It Wasn’t God Who Made Honky Tonk Angels” opened the way for future femme stars, Heather innocuously remarked, “What a name of that song, huh?”: Then, she tartly teased, “That’s what we’re going to call you, “Honky Tonk Angel”! Instead of riposting like most Southern ladies would, i.e., with an acerbic prick of from her hidden velvet-sheathed dirk, Ainsley demurely demurred and simply tittered sweetly.

Poor soul: Ainz went down without even a whimper. Her “Civil War” with Heather was just a little too civil. For a real Southern lady. And, especially, a “honky tonk angel.”

Fox & Friends First: “The Four” Now?

July 14, 2012

Patti Ann Brown, Ainsley Earhardt, Heather Childers, and Heather Nauert. Possibly, following in the footsteps of The Five, Fox & Friends First may be whittling down its number of initial hosts. As readers may recall, FNC announced the debut of The Five and listed ten rotating co-anchors including the current seven and Monica Crowley, Geraldo Rivera, and Judge Andrew Napolitano: When the Five celebrated its first anniversary last Monday on Fox & Friends, F&F co-anchor Gretchen Carlson noted that its roster had been pared down to seven (the “Magnificent Seven”), i.e., Greg Gutfeld, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Bob Beckel, Andrea Tantaros, Dana Perino, Juan Williams, and Eric Bolling.

In a similar fashion, Fox & Friends First started its new run in March with a slate of co-hosts that included not only the four that seem to be now predominating F&FF airplay qua anchors, i.e., Patti Ann Brown, Ainsley Earhardt, Heather Childers, and Heather Nauert but also Dave Briggs, Juliet Huddy, Julie Banderas, Anna Kooiman, Clayton Morris, Arthel Neville, and Jamie Colby. Even though the author has heard no new F&FF announcement, it’s website may provide a hint: only Patti Ann, Ainsley, and the two Heathers have their FNC bios listed on the official F&FF website.

Ainsley Earhardt “in Shape”: Blushing Bride 2B?

June 18, 2012

Ainz proudly rocks the rock–on her left ring finger! Early this morning, Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt seemed to signal to her fans the apparent news that she is off the market anew. Before the show started, the usually “ringless” Ainsley Tweeted her followers the upcoming headlines stories and included a photo of herself and co-anchor Heather Nauert together: Both had extra large smiles as Ainsley displayed her hands side by side with a single ring, seemingly, an engagement ring (on her left ring finger).

Perhaps, F&F fans should have suspected nuptials for Ainsley again might be in the offing exactly two weeks ago today. On June 4, she had Nikki Glor a/k/a Nikki Fitness on F&FF for a fitness segment entitled “Wedding Workout: Exercises to Get You Ready for the Big Day.” Dressed in white and ringless as usual, she had Nikki put her through the paces: But, before she did so, Ainsley seemed to have a Freudian slip: exhorting Nikki, she exclaimed, “Alright, get us in shape!”

Ironically, Ainsley may have got the sly idea from her FNC colleague Molly Line who did virtually the same thing almost a year ago to the day (June 5, 2011) as guest co-host on Fox & Friends Weekend. On that show, a single Molly enthusiastically worked out with Nikki in a “Bridal Boot Camp” segment. Only four days later on Fox and Friends (weekday), Molly announced that she was engaged and proudly showed off her new stone.”

Ainsley, your own announcement soon? If so, congratulations!

[Author's aside: More irony. Nikki rejoined Ainz today on Fox & Friends First on a "Summer Fitness Products" segment: Even though the cameraperson caught some indirect close-ups of Ainsley's new bling, neither she nor Nikki uttered a word. F&FF - 06/18/12 (@ 5:52 a.m. ET) ]

Alisyn Camerota: Waiting for “Our” Rack

June 10, 2012

Clayton Morris: “Your form’s always good.” Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Alisyn Camerota is “sexy and [she knows] it.” Yesterday, when her co-host Clayton Morris ribbed her about her “terrible [Bass Pro] archery session” from a few years ago, Aly confidently cooed, “I thought my form was good”: Taking no exception to that certitude, Clayton aptly answered, “Your form’s always good–if I do say so.”* Sounding a mite like a bawdy Mae West, Aly proudly purred, “Thank you!”

Today, Aly naughtily played with her other co-host Dave Briggs after his 10th Annual Big Apple barbeque segment (with four racks of ribs on the grill). As he segued back to her and Clayton, Aly raised her eyebrow suggestively and randily remarked, “Okay, we’re waiting on ‘our’ rack in here. I’m on it!” [Single parenthesis added for emphasis.] Perhaps, remembering his infamous faux pas almost three years ago (lampooned by Jay Leno for checking out the derrieres of his comely FNC colleagues Ainsley Earhardt and Janice Dean), Dave chuckled, “No comment.”

While Clayton sheepishly grinned, a beaming, breathy Aly batted her eyebrows, riposting, “Yeah.” As if to say, “You don’t need to say a word, Dave: I already have my own. And, as Clayton said yesterday, my form is always good!”

Indeed.

Morris’ Memorial Miss

May 28, 2012

Oops! An unfortunate “Unknown” ad lib. Fox & Friends guest co-host Clayton Morris probably wishes that he had stuck to the script this morning. One who prides himself in his historical ken and is continuously lauded for such by his FNC colleagues, Clayton had a memorable Memorial Day mishap this morning: He misidentified the “Tomb of the Unknowns” as the “Tomb of the Unknown Soldier” and then regrettably made the logical leap–and fell flat on his face.

As Fox & Friends Memorial Day edition entered its second hour, producers showed a live shot of the Tomb of the Unknowns where President Obama was scheduled to lay a wreath. Simultaneously, Clayton intoned, “That is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, referring to the remains, of course, of the unknown soldier interned at that specific spot Arlington National Cemetery.”* [Italics added for emphasis.] But, of course, it was not the resting place of a single soldier: rather, it was the “Tomb of the Unknowns” which “contains the remains of unknown American soldiers from World Wars I and II, the Korean Conflict and (until 1998) the Vietnam War” according to Arlington National Cemetery.

When the author pointed out his mistake in two Tweets [1, 2], Clayton did not respond nor did Fox & Friends show the scene again. However, when the following show, America’s Newsroom, did, both guest co-hosts Juliet Huddy and Gregg Jarrett properly referred to the monument as the “Tomb of the Unknowns.” Apparently, they knew better, or, perhaps, someone got the word.

In fairness to Clayton, even though he was off the mark this morning, he certainly did not get any assistance from his fellow guest co-anchors, Ainsley Earhardt or Dave Briggs. Ainsley merely muttered, “Mmmm,” and Dave simply moved on without a word. To make matters worse, even Clayton’s producers failed to provide him with a helpful voice in the ear.

F&F (Memorial Day): Clayton and the crew on holiday!

Ainsley Earhardt: A Real “Heel”!

May 10, 2012

Ainz: from”nude” to”rude.” Believe it or not! Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt finally got a brand new pair of shoes and rocked the set in her sexy, strappy red stilettos. For the sweet Southern belle who seemed to almost always don the very same, stinky (surely, by now) bland Crayola flesh-colored shoes on F&FW that she first wore on its debut on March 5, the change must have been a fresh breath of air–at least, for her feet. It certainly was a welcome relief for the aesthetically-deprived eyes of Ainsley’s fans.

Perchance, at last, Ainsley took the author’s advice and let her co-anchor and footwear fashion aficionado, Juliet Huddy, take her shoe shopping. Regardless, she sports some “real heels” now. Bravo, Ainz!

Clayton & Natali Morris: “It’s a Girl”

May 9, 2012

Ava Elizabeth Morris arrives. Fox & Friends Weekend co-host Clayton Morris and his wife Natali nee Del Conte announced the birth of their beautiful newborn baby yesterday evening. Breaking the news, Clayton tersely Tweeted, “It’s a girl.” About forty-minutes later, Natalie proudly proclaimed, “It’s a girl! She’s healthy and lovely!”

Early this morning on Fox & Friends First, co-anchor Ainsley Earhardt shared the news with Clayton’s FNC fans. In “The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” segment, Ainsley declared, “First, we start with the good. Meet the newest member  of the Fox & Friends family: weekend host Clayton Morris and his wife welcoming their baby girl Ava Elizabeth yesterday. She joins big brother Miles.” Meanwhile producers ran two pics of beautiful Ava: one of her in the arms of her doting dad and the other of  her with both adoring parents.

Apparently, Ava has completed the Morris household. When a Tweep teasingly admonished mama Morris to slow down, Natali declared, “No no I’m done now!”

Congratulation, Clayton and Natali!

*Fox & Friends First – 05/09/12 – (@ 5:58 a.m. ET)

Update 1 (May 10): Adorable Ava sleeping (photo taken by Clayton and RT’d by Natali).

Update 2 (May 12): According to Clayton today on F&FW, Ava weighed six pounds 12 ounces at birth. F&FW – 05/12/12 (@9:59 a.m. ET)

Update 3 (May 13): For Ava’s pics cited in article, supra, cf. J$P‘s 05/09/12 link (“a girl”).

Fox & Friends First: Ainsley’s “Soleful” Cry

April 14, 2012

Wherefore art thou, Juliet? Poor Ainsley: only one pair of shoes? Fox & Friends First co-host Ainsley Earhardt bedecked herself beautifully this week in five different dresses of cheery color: After all, it was the traditional beginning of spring.* However, she did make one fashion faux pas: she appeared to wear the very same pair of shoes (Crayola peach-colored closed-toe high heels) all week.**

To make matters worse, the author can not recollect Ainsley ever having worn another pair of shoes on F&FF since it’s inception. In fact, Ainsley appeared to be wearing the very same stilettos on the debut of F&FF–AND the day before in an F&FF promo (on the regular weekday Fox & Friends). Ainsley’s “soleful” cry for help?

If so, Ainsley has, at least, one F&FF co-host who is more than qualified to give her guidance, i.e., Juliet Huddy, who would probably prefer to die than to be caught in the same pair of shoes even two days in a row. Even though Juliet may not want to put Ainsley in Manolo Blahniks or Christian Louboutins quite yet, she could introduce her to a Huddy foot fun fave, the Naughty Monkey. Anything new!

Time to go shoe shopping, Ainsley. And, take Juliet with you. After all, what are “Friends” for?

F&F First: The Thrill is Back?

March 8, 2012

Prudish desk ditched! Today, leggy Fox & Friends First co-host Heather Childers brought sexy back–again–as she returned to F&FF‘s original sleek set. Gone was the table that producers had priggishly brought in Tuesday to conceal the gorgeous gams of co-hosts Anna Kooiman and Ainsley Earhardt after they made such a stir from their “leg chairs” Monday on F&FF‘s premiere: Back were the chic stem chairs and Heather proudly reigned atop one of them as she deftly delivered the news in her short fuschia dress.

Perhaps, it was NewHounds acerbic review (“blondest and leggiest show Fox ‘News’ has ever produced…[for]…merkin men” or Chickaboomer‘s more subtle pan of “‘Fox & Friends First’ Skirting the Issues” that cowed F&FF producers into censorious prudes for a few days. However, happily, they returned to their senses today and showcased anew the sexy stems of their smart comely co-host. Perchance, Carpe Diem played some role in facilitating this welcome change back with critiques Tuesday (“Fox & Friends: Losing Sexy Fast”) and Wednesday (“Fox & Friends First: Happening Not!”).

Regardless, laurels, F&FF. The thrill is back!
