Al, in light of the fact that CBS News Prez Sean McManus just hired CNN Newsroom anchor Betty Nguyen to host CBS Morning News, it seems inconceivable that CNN American Morning co-anchors Kiran Chetry or John Roberts would be “nobodies” as to CBS Evening News. In re Roberts, it appears all the more so since he was the regular fill-in for Dan Rather and was the early favorite to replace him on CBS Evening News.

One more thought, Jake. These women’s functions are everywhere you look lately. Every single one of them has the same theme. Words such as empowered, accomplishments, success, competition and so on are repeated over and over again. We hear how women must stand up, be strong, be tough, bulldoze their way through. These are all things that feminists seem to be obsessed with. They have to be out there pushing and shoving and proving themselves, just like the guys.

What ever happened to the women who were happy to raise good decent children, teach them Christian values and be there for their husbands and families to take care of the really big stuff, like skinned knees, broken hearts and all of life’s many ups and downs? Women are so self centered and power hungry these days. They act like they have no purpose and that their life is wasted if they aren’t out there digging and scratching for every little thing. Sad.

Kiran Chetry taking over Couric’s spot in the anchor chair? Oh boy, that’s the funniest thing I’ve heard in a while!!!! While Chetry is a liberal hack like Couric, and Chetry’s statement that Katie is her mentor just further solidifies that belief, Kiran is really a very small fish in the news business as a whole. Unless this woman goes out and gets her hands dirty like all of the big names in news, she will remain more of a decoration on the set who will never be taken seriously enough to contend for the really important and prestigious news positions.

So, Kiran so far as thrown out the names of Peter Jennings, Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric as her big news anchor heroes. Now, anyone still doubt that Kiran remains the liberal that she always has been from the very beginning?

She may be known in the larger world of news, but to the general audience of a programme such as The CBS Evening News the question would be, “Who is Kiran Chetry?” In that venue both Ms. Chetry and Mr. Roberts are “nobodies”.
