Today Fox & Friends put in its real A-Team, i.e., Steve Doocy, Brian Kilmeade, and, yes, Alisyn Camerota. FNC merged the cream of the crews of F&F and F&F Weekend as it began its inauguration coverage today with a four-hour F&F special. F&F’s top dogs, Steve and Brian, joined Aly, the leader of the F&FW pack.
As usual, Jersey girl Aly held her own with Steve and Brian and gave as good as she got. She was no girl in a man’s world: they were boys in her world. No deference demanded and no deference needed. Refreshing!
FNC would do well to consider putting Aly with the boys on F&F and placing F&F’s co-host Gretchen Carlson with Clayton Morris and Dave Briggs on the weekend. Everyone would finally be in their own league. No need to slow one’s game and no need to catch up!

My thoughts exactly! I don’t know what it will take for FNC to see what everyone else sees. The rapport beteween these three is effortless, can’t say the same about F&F weekdays. While not trying to offend Gretchen, I think she both tries too hard to fit in, and then tries to drive the show in the direction she wants (like when she cuts off Brian or Steve- moreso Brian- to move on to topics she wants to discuss or express her opinion on). On F&F weekeends, I just ignore Dave and Clayton when they speak as it is usually just useless rambling. I do enjoy though how they know Alisyn drives the show! I wonder how Gretchen, Dave and Clayton feel, when the anchoring switches are made? Fans deserve better, I wish they would listen.

I was pleased that I had left my dvr on FNC last night because they were on an hour early. Took a quick look expecting to change the channel and, after realising those three on, I went back to the beginning.
Steve Doocy started the morning off perfectly with, “… and what the hell am I doing here?”

What a great way to start the weekend!

Gretchen makes me cringe (or worse for Fox, I suppose, switch to Morning Joe),

Or, a possible improvement to your suggestion… Alisyn back on weekdays w/ Steve and Brian, and Ainsley Earhart back on weekends where she did a great job. Gretchen to… well, maybe to something during the day to fit her “more serious, less playful” approach, while I’m at work and don’t watch it anyway. A win-win-win.

That could happen, F&F Fan, if Jake’s scenario involving Megyn Kelly moving to prime time to replace Greta happens. Gretchen could team up with Bill Hemmer on America’s Newsroom, freeing up F&F for Aly and Ainsley. I think it’s very plausible.

[...] Shine has shown that he knows she is assuredly “A Team” material. E.g., he has placed his seasoned star side-by-side with Doocy and Kilmeade in such F&F specials as Pope Benedict XVI’s 2008 trip to America, [...]
